Welcome system

The sophisticated welcome system in your Kia K4 is designed to greet you and improve visibility as you approach or exit the vehicle. By illuminating key areas, it provides both convenience and an enhanced sense of security.

Door handle lamp

To configure this feature, navigate to the Kia K4 infotainment screen and select: Settings > Vehicle > Lights > Welcome Mirror/Light > On Door Unlock or On Driver Approach.

When the Kia K4 is locked and all doors and the trunk are closed, the door handle lamps will automatically illuminate for approximately 15 seconds when you perform any of the following actions:

  • Pressing the unlock button on your smart key.

  • Pressing the button on the outside door handle.

  • Approaching the Kia K4 while carrying the authorized smart key.

Headlight escort function

This function helps light your path after you have parked. To configure, navigate to: Settings > Vehicle > Lights > Welcome Mirror/Light > On Door Unlock or On Driver Approach.

Once you turn the Kia K4 to the LOCK or OFF position, the headlights and taillights will remain illuminated for approximately 5 minutes. If you open and then close the driver’s door, the lights will automatically turn off after 15 seconds to conserve energy. You can manually deactivate the lights immediately by pressing the lock button on your smart key twice or by turning the light switch to the OFF position.

Interior light welcome

Provided the DOOR OFF indicator is not illuminated, and the Kia K4 is securely locked, the interior cabin lights will shine for 30 seconds upon performing any of these actions with your smart key:

  • Pressing the door unlock button on the smart key.

  • Touching the touch sensor located on the exterior door handle.

Should you press the door lock button on your smart key, the interior lights will extinguish immediately.
