If an Accident Occurs

If the Kia EV6 is involved in an accident, remain calm and follow the recommended safety procedures immediately.

WARNING

High-Voltage Components

  • For personal safety, never touch high-voltage cables, connectors, battery modules, or electrical components. High-voltage parts in the Kia EV6 are identified by their orange color.

  • If damaged wiring or exposed cables are visible inside or outside the vehicle, do not touch them. Contact with high-voltage components may result in severe injury, electric shock, or death.

NOTE

Any leakage of gas or battery electrolyte from the Kia EV6 should be treated as both hazardous and potentially flammable. Move to a safe distance, open the windows if possible, and immediately contact an authorized Kia dealer or emergency services while informing them that an electric vehicle is involved.

  • If towing assistance is required, refer to the towing procedures described above.

  • If the Kia EV6 has sustained major damage, maintain a minimum distance of 50 ft (15 m) between the vehicle and nearby vehicles, buildings, or flammable materials.

  • If a fire occurs, immediately contact emergency services and notify responders that the incident involves an electric vehicle.

WARNING

Vehicle Submerged in Water

Never touch a Kia EV6 that has been submerged in water. The high-voltage battery system may present an electric-shock hazard or pose a fire risk. Contact emergency authorities immediately and inform them that the vehicle is an electric vehicle.
