  • Push the charging door gently to open the Kia EV6 charging inlet compartment.

  • Press the charging door open/close button or manually close the charging door securely after charging is completed.

Charging door operation

  • Press the charging door open/close button located inside the Kia EV6 cabin to operate the charging door electronically.

Immediately stop charging

To stop charging immediately while using an AC charger or DC charger with the Kia EV6, follow the procedure below.

  1. Charging button

  1. Touch the door lock sensor on the exterior Kia EV6 door handle or press the unlock button on the smart key to unlock the vehicle doors.

  2. Within approximately 15 seconds after unlocking the Kia EV6 doors, press and hold the charging button located on the charging door for about 2 seconds.

When the airbags in the Kia EV6 deploy, a loud noise will be heard and smoke or powder may appear inside the cabin. This is a normal result of the airbag inflator operation and does not indicate a fire. Following deployment, occupants may experience temporary breathing discomfort caused by the force of the seat belt, airbag deployment, and exposure to the harmless smoke and powder released during inflation.

A highly sensitive detection sensor is integrated into the front passenger seat cushion of the Kia EV6. An advanced electronic monitoring system continuously evaluates occupant conditions to determine whether the front passenger airbag should remain activated or be automatically deactivated. The overhead console indicator illuminates the message PASSENGER AIR BAG OFF ( ) whenever the front passenger airbag system has been deactivated by the Occupant Detection System.
