Kia Seltos: Features of your vehicle / Mirrors

Contents:

The Kia Seltos is equipped with inside and outside rearview mirrors to help provide a clear view of objects and traffic behind the vehicle. Proper mirror adjustment is important before every drive.

Inside rearview mirror

Adjust the inside rearview mirror so that the center view through the rear window is clearly visible. Make this adjustment before you start driving the Kia Seltos.

Do not place objects in the rear seat or cargo area that could block your view through the rear window.

Kia Seltos inside rearview mirror cleaning caution

CAUTION

Cleaning mirror

When cleaning the mirror, use a paper towel or similar soft material dampened with glass cleaner. Do not spray glass cleaner directly onto the mirror, because liquid may enter the mirror housing and cause damage.

Outside rearview mirror

The Kia Seltos is equipped with both left-hand and right-hand outside rearview mirrors to help the driver monitor traffic, lane position, and objects behind or beside the vehicle.

Be sure to adjust the mirror angles before driving so that you have a clear view along both sides of the Kia Seltos.

The outside mirrors can be adjusted remotely using the mirror control switch. The mirror heads can also be folded back to help prevent damage during an automatic car wash, while parking in tight spaces, or when passing through a narrow street.

WARNING

Estimating distances accurately

Objects reflected in the outside rearview mirror may be closer than they appear. Do not estimate the distance of vehicles behind you only by looking in the mirror, as this may increase the risk of an accident. Convex mirrors are used only for the passenger-side rearview mirror.

If the mirror is jammed with ice, do not adjust it by force. Use an approved spray de-icer, not radiator antifreeze, to release the frozen mechanism, or move the Kia Seltos to a warm place and allow the ice to melt naturally.

Kia Seltos SP2 (2021-2026) Owner's Manual: Windshield defrosting and defogging

When the Kia Seltos windshield is covered with frost, fog, or moisture, the front view may become blurred. Remove frost and moisture before driving to maintain clear visibility and safer vehicle control. WARNING Windshield heating Do not use the or position during cooling operation in extremely humid weather. The temperature difference between the outside air and the windshield may cause the outer surface of the windshield to fog, reducing visibility.
