Kia Seltos: Features of your vehicle / Lighting
Contents:
The Kia Seltos is equipped with a variety of interior and exterior lights to improve visibility, safety, and convenience. These lights help the driver see the road, make the vehicle more visible to others, and illuminate the cabin when needed.
CAUTION
To help prevent the battery from discharging, do not leave the headlights or interior lights on for a prolonged period while the engine is not running.
Headlight escort function
If you turn the ENGINE START/STOP button to the ACC or OFF position while the headlights are ON, the Kia Seltos headlights remain on for about 5 minutes. However, if the driver's door is opened and closed, the headlights turn off after approximately 15 seconds.
The headlights can be turned off by pressing the lock button on the transmitter or smart key twice, or by turning the light switch to the OFF position. The Headlight Escort function can be activated or deactivated by selecting User Settings → Lights → Headlight Delay on the LCD display, or Setup → Vehicle → Lights → Headlight Delay on the infotainment system.
NOTICE
The infotainment system may change after software updates. For more information, refer to the user's manual provided in the infotainment system and the quick reference guide.
Daytime Running Light (DRL)
The Daytime Running Light system helps make the front of the Kia Seltos easier for other road users to see during the day.
DRL can be useful in many driving conditions and is especially helpful after dawn, before sunset, or in changing light conditions.
The DRL will turn the dedicated lamp OFF when:
-
The headlight switch is on.
-
The vehicle is off.
-
The front fog light is on.
-
The parking brake is engaged.
