Contents:
- System operation
- Climate control air filter
- Air conditioning refrigerant label
- Checking the amount of A/C refrigerant and compressor lubricant
The Kia Seltos climate control system uses heating, cooling, ventilation, and air distribution functions to help maintain a comfortable cabin environment for the driver and passengers.
System operation ➤
Climate control air filter
The Kia Seltos climate control air filter helps remove dust, pollen, and other pollutants that enter the cabin from outside. Over time, these particles can build up in the filter and reduce airflow from the air vents. When airflow becomes weak, moisture may also collect on the inside of the windshield, even when the fresh air intake mode is selected.
When this happens, replace the climate control air filter. If replacement is difficult to perform yourself, have the climate control air filter replaced by an authorized Kia dealer. A clean filter helps the Kia Seltos heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system operate more efficiently and keeps the cabin air more pleasant.
CAUTION
Replace the climate control air filter according to the Maintenance Schedule. Failure to replace the filter regularly can reduce airflow, weaken heating and cooling performance, and cause unpleasant odors inside the Kia Seltos cabin.
NOTICE
If the airflow from the air vents suddenly decreases, have your Kia Seltos checked by an authorized Kia dealer.
Air conditioning refrigerant label
Example
* The air conditioning refrigerant label in your Kia Seltos may differ from the illustration depending on model, market, and system specification.
Each symbol and specification on the air conditioning refrigerant label is shown below:
-
Classification of refrigerant
-
Amount of refrigerant
-
Classification of compressor lubricant
-
Caution
-
Flammable refrigerant
-
Requires a registered technician to service the A/C system
You can identify which air conditioning refrigerant is used in your Kia Seltos by checking the label inside the engine compartment.
Checking the amount of A/C refrigerant and compressor lubricant
When the refrigerant level is low, the air conditioning performance of the Kia Seltos may be reduced. Overfilling the system can also negatively affect air conditioning operation and may damage related components.
If the A/C system operates abnormally, have the system inspected by an authorized Kia dealer. Correct refrigerant and lubricant levels are important for cooling performance, compressor durability, and safe system operation.
WARNING
The oil and refrigerant in the Kia Seltos A/C system are under very high pressure. If proper service procedures are not followed, an explosion may occur. To reduce the risk of serious injury or death, the air conditioning system should only be serviced by trained and certified technicians.
CAUTION
It is important to use the correct type and amount of oil and refrigerant. Using the wrong material or incorrect quantity may damage the Kia Seltos A/C system. To prevent damage, the air conditioning system should only be serviced by trained and certified technicians.
WARNING
Vehicles equipped with R-1234yf

Since R-1234yf refrigerant is mildly flammable and operates under high pressure, the air conditioning system should only be serviced by trained and certified technicians. Refer to SAE J2845 for proper service requirements.
The correct type and amount of oil and refrigerant must always be used in the Kia Seltos A/C system.
All refrigerants should be reclaimed with proper recovery equipment. Venting refrigerant directly into the atmosphere is harmful to people and the environment.
Failure to follow these warnings may lead to serious injury.

Kia Seltos SP2 (2021-2026) Owner's Manual: Winter driving
Severe winter weather can increase tire wear, reduce traction, affect braking, and create additional stress on vehicle systems. To reduce winter driving problems in the Kia Seltos, follow these recommendations. Snowy or icy conditions When driving in deep snow, it may be necessary to use snow tires or install tire chains on the tires, depending on road conditions and local regulations.Kia Seltos SP2 (2021-2026) Owner's Manual: Tire sidewall labeling
Tire sidewall information identifies and describes the basic characteristics of the tire. It also provides the Tire Identification Number (TIN), which is used for safety standard certification and may help identify a tire in case of a recall. The TIN can be used to identify the tire if a safety recall or service campaign applies.
