Kia EV6: Opening and closing / Windows

Contents:

The Kia EV6 is equipped with advanced power windows that can be conveniently operated using dedicated control switches located on each door panel.

  3. Rear door (right) power window switch

  4. Driver’s door power window switch

  5. Front passenger’s door power window switch

NOTE

In freezing or wet weather conditions, the Kia EV6 power windows may operate slower than normal or temporarily stop functioning because of ice accumulation.

The EV button must remain in the POWER ON or DRIVE READY position for the Kia EV6 power windows to function properly.

Each door in the Kia EV6 includes its own power window switch for independent operation. The driver’s door panel also contains a power window lock button that can disable operation of the rear passenger windows for improved safety.

The power windows can continue operating for approximately 3 minutes after the EV button is switched off. However, if either front door is opened during this period, the power windows will no longer operate.

The Kia EV6 driver’s door features a master power window switch that provides full control over all windows in the vehicle for added convenience.

If a window does not close because an object is obstructing its movement, remove the obstruction before operating the window again.

The refined cabin design of the Kia EV6 also helps reduce outside wind turbulence and improves passenger comfort when the windows are partially open.

NOTE

When driving the Kia EV6 with the rear windows lowered or the sunroof (if equipped) partially open, you may hear a wind buffeting or pulsation sound. This is a normal aerodynamic effect. The noise can usually be reduced by slightly lowering both front windows approximately 1 inch (2.5 cm). If the sound occurs with the sunroof open, reducing the sunroof opening slightly may also help minimize the noise.

CAUTION

Do not install accessories or external objects that extend into the Kia EV6 window opening area. Doing so may interfere with the operation of the automatic reversal “jam protection” safety feature.
