Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist in the Kia EV6 is designed to detect vehicles approaching from the rear left or rear right side while reversing. The system warns the driver of a potential collision through visual alerts, warning messages, and audible notifications. In certain situations, the Kia EV6 RCCA system may also apply brake assistance automatically to help reduce the risk of a rear cross-traffic collision during parking maneuvers.

Kia EV6 2022-2026 Owner's Manual: Noise and smoke

When the airbags in the Kia EV6 deploy, a loud noise will be heard and smoke or powder may appear inside the cabin. This is a normal result of the airbag inflator operation and does not indicate a fire. Following deployment, occupants may experience temporary breathing discomfort caused by the force of the seat belt, airbag deployment, and exposure to the harmless smoke and powder released during inflation.

The Rear View Monitor image remains active when the following conditions are satisfied: The gear is shifted from R (Reverse) to N (Neutral) or D (Drive). The Kia EV6 speed remains below approximately 6 mph (10 km/h). Non-operating conditions The Extended Rear View Monitor turns OFF under the following conditions: The gear is shifted to P (Park).
