Kia EV6: Driver assistance system / Lane Keeping Assist (LKA)

Contents:

The Kia EV6 Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) system is designed to help drivers maintain safer lane positioning during everyday driving.

While driving above a certain speed, the Kia EV6 Lane Keeping Assist system can detect lane markings or road edges using the front view camera.

If the Kia EV6 begins to leave its lane without the turn signal being activated, the system may provide visual and audible warnings and may assist with steering input to help prevent unintended lane departure.

The Kia EV6 Lane Keeping Assist technology is especially useful during highway driving, long-distance travel, and situations involving driver fatigue or momentary distraction.

Detection sensor

Please refer to the Detecting Sensor(s) section for detailed information regarding the applicable Kia EV6 sensors and their installation locations.

The Kia EV6 front view camera continuously monitors lane markings, lane boundaries, and road edges to support Lane Keeping Assist operation.

CAUTION

For additional information regarding the Kia EV6 front view camera system and sensor operation, refer to the Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) (Sensor Fusion) section.

NOTE Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control is available only on certain highways and controlled-access roads.

Kia EV6 2022-2026 Owner's Manual: Limitations of Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist

The Kia EV6 Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist system may operate unexpectedly, become temporarily limited, or fail to detect surrounding vehicles properly under certain road, weather, traffic, or environmental conditions. Because the Kia EV6 Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist system relies on radar sensors and electronic detection technology, detection performance can vary depending on surrounding obstacles, road geometry, weather, and driving behavior.
