The Kia EV6 Lane Keeping Assist system provides the following warning and steering assistance functions to help improve driving stability and lane positioning:
Lane Departure Warning
Lane Keeping Assist
Lane Departure Warning
When the Kia EV6 detects that the vehicle is unintentionally leaving its lane without the turn signal being activated, the Lane Departure Warning function alerts the driver through multiple warning methods.
The system uses a green indicator light on the instrument cluster, a blinking directional warning indicator corresponding to the side of lane departure, audible warning sounds, and steering wheel vibration to notify the driver.
The Kia EV6 Lane Departure Warning function is designed to help improve driver awareness during highway driving, long-distance travel, and situations involving temporary distraction or fatigue.
Lane Departure Warning may activate under the following approximate operating conditions:
Your Kia EV6 driving speed is approximately 40–120 mph (60–180 km/h)
The Kia EV6 front view camera continuously monitors visible lane markings and road edges to determine vehicle position within the lane.
Lane Keeping Assist
When Lane Keeping Assist is operating, the green indicator light (
) will blink on the
instrument cluster
while the steering system makes small corrective steering adjustments to help keep the Kia EV6 centered within
the
lane.
The Kia EV6 Lane Keeping Assist system can provide steering support if it detects unintended lane departure while driving above the operating speed range.
Lane Keeping Assist may activate under the following approximate conditions:
Your Kia EV6 driving speed is approximately 40–120 mph (60–180 km/h)
The Kia EV6 steering assistance system is intended to support the driver but does not replace attentive and responsible driving.
Hands-off warning
|
|
If the Kia EV6 detects that the driver has removed their hands from the steering wheel for several seconds, a warning message will appear on the instrument cluster and audible warning alerts will sound progressively in stages.
The Kia EV6 Hands-off Warning system is designed to remind the driver to maintain proper steering wheel contact while Lane Keeping Assist or other steering support functions are active.
WARNING
Kia EV6 steering assistance may not activate properly if the steering wheel is held too tightly or if the driver turns the steering wheel beyond a certain angle.
The Kia EV6 Lane Keeping Assist system does not operate continuously in all driving situations.
The driver remains fully responsible for safely steering the vehicle and maintaining proper lane position at all times.
The hands-off warning message on the Kia EV6 may appear later than expected depending on road conditions, steering input, or driving environment.
Always keep your hands on the steering wheel while driving.
If gloves are worn or the steering wheel is held too lightly, the Kia EV6 may not recognize proper hand contact and the hands-off warning may activate.
If accessories or objects are attached to the Kia EV6 steering wheel, the hands-off detection system may not function correctly.
Do not rely solely on Kia EV6 driver assistance systems in severe weather, poor visibility, or difficult road conditions.
NOTE
Even while the Kia EV6 Lane Keeping Assist system is providing steering support, the driver can still manually control the steering wheel at any time.
The steering wheel on the Kia EV6 may feel temporarily heavier or lighter while steering assistance is active.
If the Kia EV6 successfully detects lane markings, the gray-colored lane indicators displayed on the instrument cluster will turn white.

If Highway Lane Change Assist is selected on equipped Kia EV6 models, green lane indicators may appear on the instrument cluster display.
The displayed graphics, icons, and colors on the Kia EV6 instrument cluster may vary depending on display themes, software versions, and vehicle specifications.
