Electrical equipment (U.S. only)

The electrical systems installed in the Kia EV6 are engineered to operate reliably under a wide range of normal driving and environmental conditions. Advanced electronic control modules, charging components, safety systems, infotainment features, and vehicle communication networks work together to ensure optimal performance, efficiency, and safety.

Before installing any aftermarket electrical accessories or additional electronic equipment in your Kia EV6, consult an authorized Kia dealer to verify compatibility and to help ensure that warranty coverage remains unaffected.

Certain electrical devices, modifications, or improper installation procedures may negatively affect vehicle operation. Systems that could be impacted include battery management functions, charging equipment, infotainment systems, communication networks, driver-assistance technologies, and other electronic components integrated into the Kia EV6.

Improperly installed accessories may interfere with electrical performance, increase power consumption, create diagnostic issues, or potentially void portions of the applicable vehicle warranty.

Kia assumes no responsibility for expenses, repairs, malfunctions, or system failures resulting from electrical equipment, accessories, or modifications that are not supplied, approved, or recommended by Kia for installation in the Kia EV6.

Installation of a mobile 2-way radio system

Incorrect installation of a mobile two-way radio system, communication transmitter, or excessively powerful radio equipment may interfere with sensitive electronic systems in the Kia EV6. Electromagnetic interference can potentially affect communication networks, vehicle electronics, safety systems, and other control modules.

To help avoid potential damage or operational issues, always consult an authorized Kia dealer before installing radio communication equipment or other high-powered electronic devices in your Kia EV6.

Kia vehicles, including the Kia EV6, are designed, engineered, and manufactured to meet or exceed applicable federal safety requirements and industry standards.

For maximum safety and proper vehicle operation, Kia strongly recommends carefully reviewing and following all instructions, notices, cautions, and warnings contained throughout this Owner's Manual.

Reporting Safety Defects (U.S. only)

If you believe that your Kia EV6 contains a defect that could contribute to a crash, injury, or loss of life, you should immediately notify both the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Kia America, Inc.

When NHTSA receives multiple reports involving similar concerns, the agency may initiate a formal investigation. If a safety-related defect is identified within a group of vehicles, NHTSA may require a recall campaign and corrective action program. However, NHTSA generally does not resolve individual disputes between vehicle owners, dealerships, and manufacturers.

To contact NHTSA, you may call the Vehicle Safety Hotline toll-free at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY: 1-888-275-9171), visit http://www.NHTSA.gov, download the SaferCar mobile application, or write to: Administrator, NHTSA, 1200 New Jersey Ave, SE., West Building, Washington, DC 20590.

Additional information regarding motor vehicle safety, recalls, consumer protection programs, and defect investigations is also available through NHTSA resources.

Kia EV6 2022-2026 Owner's Manual: Trailer towing: (if equipped)

If you plan to tow a trailer with the Kia EV6, first check the legal towing regulations and requirements established by your local Department of Motor Vehicles or other transportation authorities. Trailer towing laws and equipment requirements may vary depending on the type of trailer, regional regulations, vehicle classification, and total trailer weight.

Kia EV6 2022-2026 Owner's Manual: Noise and smoke

When the airbags in the Kia EV6 deploy, a loud noise will be heard and smoke or powder may appear inside the cabin. This is a normal result of the airbag inflator operation and does not indicate a fire. Following deployment, occupants may experience temporary breathing discomfort caused by the force of the seat belt, airbag deployment, and exposure to the harmless smoke and powder released during inflation.
