NOTICE
In cold and wet weather, the power windows may not operate properly because of freezing conditions.
The ignition switch or ENGINE START/STOP button must be in the ON position for the power windows to operate.
Each door has a power window switch that controls the window for that door. The driver's door also includes a power window lock switch that can block rear passenger window operation. The power windows can be operated for approximately 3 minutes after the ENGINE START/STOP button or ignition switch is placed in the ACC or LOCK/OFF position. However, if the front doors are opened, the power windows cannot be operated even within this 3-minute period.
The driver's door has a master power window switch that controls all windows in the Kia Seltos.
If a window cannot be closed because an object is blocking it, remove the object first and then close the window.
NOTICE
While driving with the rear windows down, or with the sunroof open or partially open, the Kia Seltos may produce wind buffeting or a pulsating noise. This is normal and can usually be reduced or eliminated by slightly adjusting the openings. If the noise occurs with one or both rear windows down, partially lower both front windows approximately 1 in (2.5 cm). If the noise occurs with the sunroof open, slightly reduce the sunroof opening.
CAUTION
Do not install accessories that extend into the open window area. Such objects may interfere with the proper operation of the Automatic Reversal jam protection feature.
NOTICE
If you press the one-touch window button for micro adjustment, the glass will move down to a specific position to improve convenience and help fine-tune ventilation.
Window opening and closing ➤
Power window lock button
The Kia Seltos power window lock button allows the driver to disable the power window switches on the rear passenger doors. To activate this safety function, press the power window lock button into the locked position. This feature is especially useful when children are seated in the rear seats of the Kia Seltos, as it helps prevent unintended window operation.
When the power window lock button is pressed:
-
The driver's master control switch can still operate all passenger power windows.
-
The front passenger switch can operate only the front passenger power window.
-
The rear passenger switches cannot operate the rear passenger power windows.
Before closing any window in the Kia Seltos, always check carefully that hands, arms, heads, or other objects are safely away from the window opening. Power windows can cause injury if they close on a person or obstruction.
If a window cannot close because an object is blocking it, remove the obstruction first, then close the window again.
WARNING
Power windows
-
Do not allow children to play with the power windows. Keep the power window lock switch on the driver's door in the LOCK position whenever rear passengers, especially children, may operate the switches accidentally.
-
Never extend your face, arms, or hands outside the window opening while the Kia Seltos is moving. Doing so may result in serious injury.
WARNING
-
When leaving the vehicle, turn the engine switch off, take the key with you, and make sure all children have exited the Kia Seltos. A child left alone inside the vehicle may accidentally operate vehicle controls, which could lead to injury or an accident.
-
Do not leave children, elderly passengers, or animals inside the vehicle with the doors and windows closed, even for a short time.
-
Do not allow a child to hold both the remote control key and the mechanical key together, as this may lead to unintended vehicle operation.
Remote window opening system
If equipped, the Kia Seltos remote window opening system allows the windows to be lowered from outside the vehicle, even when the engine is turned off. This can help ventilate the cabin before entering the vehicle on hot days.
-
Press and hold the door unlock button (1) for more than 3 seconds. After the doors unlock, the windows will begin to move down while the button remains pressed.
The window movement stops when you release the door unlock button (1).
-
The remote window operation feature can be activated or deactivated from the vehicle settings menu.

-
The remote window opening function may stop unexpectedly if you move too far away from your Kia Seltos during operation. Stay near the vehicle and watch the windows while they are moving.
-
Use the remote window opening function carefully, because the doors will be unlocked while the feature is being used.
