If the vehicle will not start because of low battery power, the Kia Seltos may need to be jump-started using a booster battery and proper jumper cables.

Jump-starting

Connect the jumper cables in numerical order and disconnect them in the reverse order.

Do not connect the jumper cable directly from the negative terminal of the booster battery to the negative terminal of the discharged battery. This can cause the discharged battery to overheat, crack, or become damaged.

Connect one end of the jumper cable to the negative terminal of the booster battery and the other end to a solid metallic ground point away from the battery.

The automatic transmission in the Kia Seltos is equipped with a shift lock system. This safety feature helps prevent the transmission from being shifted from P (Park) into R (Reverse) unless the brake pedal is pressed. To shift the transmission from P (Park) into R (Reverse), follow these steps: Depress and hold the brake pedal. Start the engine or turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
