Kia Seltos: Theft-alarm system / Disarmed stage

The Kia Seltos theft-alarm system will disarm under the following conditions:

Folding key

  • The door unlock button is pressed.

  • The engine is started within 3 seconds.

  • The ignition switch is kept in the "ON" position for 30 seconds or more.

Smart key

  • The door unlock button is pressed.

  • The button on the front outside door handle is pressed while carrying the smart key.

  • The engine is started within 3 seconds.

After the unlock button is pressed, the hazard warning lights will blink and the chime will sound twice for smart key operation, indicating that the system has been disarmed.

After the unlock button is pressed, if no door or liftgate is opened within 30 seconds, the Kia Seltos theft-alarm system will automatically arm again.

NOTICE

  • Avoid trying to start the engine while the alarm is activated. The starting motor is disabled during the theft-alarm stage.

    If the system is not disarmed with the folding key, insert the key into the ignition switch, turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for 30 seconds. The system will then disarm.

  • If you lose your keys, consult an authorized Kia dealer.

Adjusting alarm system

Do not alter, adjust, or modify the theft-alarm system in your Kia Seltos. Improper installation or unauthorized adjustment could damage the vehicle or cause the alarm system to malfunction.

Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA) in the Kia Seltos is designed to help detect vehicles approaching from the rear left or rear right side while the vehicle is reversing. If a collision risk is detected, the system may warn the driver with a warning message and an audible alert. Braking assist may also be applied depending on the situation.

Cruise indicator Set speed Cruise Control allows the Kia Seltos to maintain a selected speed above 20 mph (30 km/h) without the driver continuously pressing the accelerator pedal. It is most useful on open roads or highways with steady traffic flow.
