On Kia EV6 models equipped with a smart key system, the Smart Liftgate with AUTO Open function allows convenient hands-free access to the cargo area without physically touching the liftgate.

The Kia EV6 smart liftgate can automatically open without pressing any button under the following conditions:

Approximately 15 seconds have passed after all doors were fully closed and locked.

The smart key remains within the detection zone behind the vehicle for more than 3 seconds.
This convenient Kia EV6 feature is especially useful when carrying shopping bags, luggage, charging accessories, or other cargo items.
NOTE
The Smart Liftgate with AUTO Open feature may not operate in the following situations:

The smart key is detected continuously within 15 seconds after the doors are locked.

The smart key is located within 60 inches (1.5 m) of the front door handles immediately after locking the vehicle. (Vehicles equipped with Welcome Light)

Any vehicle door remains open or is not completely latched.

The smart key is left inside the Kia EV6 vehicle.

Highway Lane Change Assist (if equipped) Highway Lane Change Assist helps the Kia EV6 change lanes in the direction indicated by the turn signal switch when the system determines that the lane change can be performed safely.Forward/Side/Reverse Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist in the Kia EV6 may not provide braking intervention even when pedestrians, vehicles, or other obstacles are present near the vehicle under the following conditions: There is a problem with the vehicle: Aftermarket accessories, non-genuine equipment, or modified components have been installed.
