Press and hold the Parking Safety button (
) for more than two seconds to enable or disable the Parking
Collision-Avoidance Assist system.
Select Backward Safety from the Parking Safety menu on the infotainment screen. Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist in the Kia EV6 becomes operational when the following requirements are met:
All doors and the liftgate are securely closed.
The Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) has been released.
The transmission is shifted into R (Reverse).
Vehicle speed is below 6 mph (10 km/h) when monitoring pedestrians.
Vehicle speed is below 2 mph (4 km/h) when detecting stationary objects.
All PCA-related components, including the rear camera and rear ultrasonic sensors, are functioning normally.

When the system is active, a guidance line appears behind the vehicle image in the instrument cluster, indicating that Reverse Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist is ready to intervene if necessary.
NOTE
After the Kia EV6 shifts into R (Reverse), Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist can activate once during that reversing cycle. To reactivate the system, shift out of Reverse and then return the gear selector to R.
If Reverse Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist detects a potential collision risk with a pedestrian or obstacle, the Kia EV6 provides an audible warning and displays a warning message in the instrument cluster. If the infotainment display is active, additional visual alerts may also appear on the screen.
When the system determines that a collision is imminent and the driver does not react appropriately, automatic braking assistance may be applied to help avoid or reduce the severity of the impact.
Braking intervention is automatically released after approximately five minutes. The driver should immediately press the brake pedal and carefully assess the surroundings before continuing to drive.
Braking assistance is cancelled under the following conditions:
The transmission is shifted to P (Park) or D (Drive).
The driver applies sufficient braking force manually.
The warning condition ends after selecting P (Park), N (Neutral), or D (Drive).
NOTE
When Reverse Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist activates during reversing, braking control is maintained temporarily. After approximately five minutes, braking assistance is released and the Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) is automatically engaged for additional safety.
Kia EV6 2022-2026 Owner's Manual: Main electric vehicle components
OBC: Converts AC charging power into DC power in order to charge the high-voltage battery of the Kia EV6 efficiently. Inverter: Converts direct current (DC) into alternating current (AC) to power the electric motor and also converts AC back into DC when charging the high-voltage battery. LDC: Converts high-voltage battery power into low-voltage 12V electricity to supply power to standard vehicle electrical systems (DC-DC converter).Kia EV6 2022-2026 Owner's Manual: Limitations of Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist
The Kia EV6 Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist system may operate unexpectedly, become temporarily limited, or fail to detect surrounding vehicles properly under certain road, weather, traffic, or environmental conditions. Because the Kia EV6 Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist system relies on radar sensors and electronic detection technology, detection performance can vary depending on surrounding obstacles, road geometry, weather, and driving behavior.
