Whenever a front door of the Kia EV6 is opened, the illuminated EV button becomes visible for easier access and driver convenience.

The Kia EV6 EV button illumination automatically switches OFF approximately 30 seconds after the door is closed.
If all Kia EV6 doors are closed and the vehicle is locked using the smart key or transmitter, the illumination turns OFF immediately.
EV button position
The Kia EV6 EV button operates in the following primary positions:
OFF
POWER ON
DRIVE READY
To switch the Kia EV6 OFF from either the DRIVE READY or POWER ON position, press the EV button while the shifter dial is in the P (Park) position.
POWER ONPress the Kia EV6 EV button once without pressing the brake pedal. This allows the warning indicators and system checks to operate before driving.
Several electrical features and infotainment functions of the Kia EV6 remain available in this mode.
Approximately 14 minutes after entering the POWER ON mode, the Kia EV6 infotainment display shows a message requesting activation of Utility Mode to continue using vehicle power.

If the Kia EV6 remains in POWER ON mode for approximately 15 minutes without switching to Utility Mode, vehicle power automatically changes to the OFF position to help protect the battery.
NOTE
If the Kia EV6 high-voltage battery charging system or outdoor V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) function is operating while in POWER ON, the vehicle power will not switch OFF automatically.
DRIVE READYTo place the Kia EV6 into the DRIVE READY position from either OFF or POWER ON, press the brake pedal and then press the EV button while the shifter dial is in the P (Park) position.
If the Kia EV6 EV button is pressed without pressing the brake pedal, the vehicle will not enter the driving mode and the operating mode changes sequentially instead.
WARNING
Starting Vehicle
Never press the Kia EV6 EV button while the vehicle is moving except during a genuine emergency. Doing so may result in loss of steering assistance, braking capability, and directional control, which could lead to a serious accident.
WARNING
Leaving the Vehicle
To prevent unexpected Kia EV6 vehicle movement, never leave the vehicle unless the transmission is fully engaged in P (Park) and the parking brake is securely applied.
Before leaving the Kia EV6 driver’s seat, always verify that the vehicle is shifted into P (Park), the parking brake is fully engaged, and the vehicle power has been switched OFF completely.
Firmly depress the brake pedal before shutting down the Kia EV6.
Shift the vehicle into P (Park).
Apply the parking brake completely.
Press the EV button to switch the Kia EV6 OFF.
Confirm that the indicator (
) light on the instrument
cluster has
turned OFF completely.
CAUTION
If the indicator (
) light on the instrument cluster
remains illuminated, the Kia EV6 has not been fully turned OFF and the vehicle may still move if the gear
position is changed from P (Park).

How to link user profile Open the infotainment settings menu and select Setup > User profile > Profile setting > Link Digital Key (Smartphone) to begin the Kia EV6 profile linking process.
