Kia EV6: Theft-alarm system / Armed stage

Contents:

Before arming the Kia EV6 theft-alarm system, park the vehicle safely and ensure that all entry points are securely closed.

Entering the armed stage using the smart key

  1. Place the EV button in the OFF position.

  2. Verify that all doors, the hood, and the liftgate are fully closed and properly latched.

  3. To lock the doors, press the button located on the exterior front door handle while carrying the Kia EV6 smart key.

After completing these steps, the hazard warning lights will flash once and the warning chime will sound once to confirm that the theft-alarm system has entered the armed stage.

If any door, the hood, or the liftgate remains open, the hazard warning lights and chime will not activate, and the Kia EV6 theft-alarm system will not arm correctly. Once all openings are securely closed, the hazard lights and chime will operate normally after locking.

The system may also be armed manually by locking the front doors with the mechanical key; however, the hazard warning lights will not flash when using this method.

  4. Press the lock button on the Kia EV6 smart key transmitter to lock all doors.

After the process is complete, the hazard warning lights and confirmation chime will operate once to indicate that the security system is armed.

NOTE

Do not arm the Kia EV6 theft-alarm system until all passengers have exited the vehicle. If passengers remain inside after the system is armed, the alarm may activate when they attempt to leave the vehicle. Additionally, if any door, hood, or liftgate is opened within 30 seconds after arming, the system automatically disarms to help prevent unnecessary alarm activation.
