Windshield washers
The Kia Seltos windshield wipers and washers operate when the ENGINE START/STOP button is turned ON. Use the correct wiper setting according to rain, mist, snow, or road spray conditions to help maintain clear forward visibility.
MIST: For a single wiping cycle, move the lever to the MIST position and release it. The wipers will continue operating if the lever is held in this position.
OFF: The windshield wipers are not operating.
INT: The wipers operate intermittently at regular wiping intervals. Use this mode in light rain or mist. To adjust the wiping interval, turn the speed control switch.
LO: Normal wiper speed.
HI: Fast wiper speed.
NOTICE
If there is heavy snow or ice on the windshield, do not drive until visibility is restored. Defrost the windshield for about 10 minutes, or until the snow and ice are removed, before using the windshield wipers. Operating the Kia Seltos wipers over packed snow or ice may damage the wiper and washer system.
NOTICE
If you operate the wipers while driving on snowy roads, the wipers may stop because of snow buildup on the windshield. This is normal and may occur as a protective feature to help prevent wiper motor overload and vehicle safety issues. If the wipers stop, remove accumulated snow from the top or bottom of the windshield before using them again.
WARNING
Do not use the washer in freezing temperatures without first warming the windshield with the defrosters. Washer fluid may freeze on the windshield and block your vision, increasing the risk of an accident.
Auto rear wiper
The Kia Seltos rear wiper can operate automatically while the vehicle is in reverse if the front wipers are ON and the Auto Rear Wiper function is selected on the LCD display or infotainment system.
With the ignition switch or ENGINE START/STOP button in the ON position, select User Settings → Convenience → Auto Rear Wiper (in R) on the LCD display, or select Setup → Vehicle → Convenience → Auto Rear Wiper (in R) on the infotainment system.
NOTICE
The infotainment system may change after software updates. For more information, refer to the user's manual provided in the Kia Seltos infotainment system and the quick reference guide.
