Wheel dollies
If towing is required, it is recommended to have your Kia Seltos towed by an authorized Kia dealer or a professional commercial tow-truck service.
Correct lifting and towing procedures are important to prevent damage to the vehicle. Using wheel dollies (1) or transporting the Kia Seltos on a flatbed tow truck is recommended whenever possible.
WARNING
Side and curtain air bag
If your Kia Seltos is equipped with side and curtain air bags, place the vehicle in the ACC position while it is being towed. If the vehicle remains in the ON position, the side and curtain air bags may deploy if the rollover sensor detects the towing condition as a rollover situation.
CAUTION
An AWD Kia Seltos should never be towed with the wheels on the ground. Always use wheel dollies or a flatbed tow truck. Failure to do so may cause serious damage to the transmission and AWD system.
NOTICE
-
Shift the vehicle to N (Neutral) when towing with the tires on the ground. For additional details, refer to the related towing and transmission instructions for the Kia Seltos.
-
If the Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) does not release normally, load the Kia Seltos onto a flatbed tow truck and have the system inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.
