Safe Exit Warning provides the following type of warning:

The warning light on the side view mirror will blink, a warning message will appear on the instrument cluster, and an audible warning will sound.

• SEW will warn under the following conditions:

  • Your vehicle speed: below 2 mph (3 km/h)

  • Speed of the approaching vehicle from the rear: above 4 mph (6 km/h)

WARNING

• For your safety, change SEW settings only after parking the Kia Seltos in a safe location.

• If another function displays a warning message or produces an audible warning, the SEW warning message may not appear and the audible warning may not sound.

• You may not hear the SEW warning sound if the surrounding environment is noisy.

• SEW does not operate in every situation and cannot prevent all collisions.

• Depending on road, traffic, and surrounding conditions, SEW may warn the driver late or may not warn at all. Always check your surroundings before opening a door.

• The driver and passengers are responsible for accidents that may occur while exiting the vehicle. Always look carefully around the Kia Seltos before getting out.

NOTICE

• After the engine is turned off, SEW operates for approximately 3 minutes, but it turns off immediately if the doors are locked.

• Images or colors may appear differently depending on the instrument cluster specifications or selected theme.
