If your specific vehicle package is configured with the optional premium wide sunroof assembly, you can effortlessly slide open or tilt the glass panel using the multi-stage electronic sunroof switch located conveniently on the overhead console panel.

To protect the battery state of charge, you can only actuate the panoramic or wide sunroof tracking system when the ENGINE START/STOP button is placed in the active ON or START power mode positions.

However, an integrated delay relay allows you to operate the sunroof for approximately 3 minutes after cycling the ENGINE START/STOP button back down to the ACC or LOCK positions. If you physically open either of the front passenger doors during this 3-minute grace period, the power network cuts off immediately, disabling further adjustments to the sunroof or power windows of your Kia K4.

SUNROOF DISTRACTION AND PASSENGER ACCESS WARNINGS:

• Stationary Adjustments Only: Be sure to adjust or operate the sunroof parameters exclusively while the car is fully stationary. Attempting to modulate the roof tracking switch while actively driving can cause severe driver distraction, steering deviation, and accidents.

• Ignition Safety Lockout: When leaving the passenger cabin for even a short time, always switch off the engine ignition and carry the smart key fob with you. This prevents unsupervised children or occupants from accidentally operating the heavy motorized sunroof glass and causing injury.

• Glass Load Limitations: Do not sit on, stand through, or place heavy cargo loads directly on the exterior sunroof glass panel, as doing so can crack the safety glass or bend the high-precision guide tracking mechanism of your Kia K4.

ROOF RACK ACCESSSORY INTERFERENCE TIP:

Never actuate the slide or tilt open functions of the sunroof when aftermarket crossbars or roof bars are installed on the vehicle mounting tracks, or when there is large luggage secured to the upper roof lines. Check clearances carefully to prevent the moving glass from colliding with roof cargo attachments on your Kia K4.

Power sunshade

The **Kia K4** is equipped with a convenient power sunshade designed to block direct sunlight and enhance cabin comfort. This feature allows you to control light levels entering through the sunroof glass seamlessly.

• Open: Push the sunroof switch backward to the first position. The power sunshade will slide open smoothly.

• Close: Push the sunroof switch forward to the first position. The power sunshade will close. If the sunroof glass is already open, the system is designed to close the glass first before moving the shade.

To stop the power sunshade at any specific position, simply push the sunroof switch in any direction during movement.

Tilt open or close

• Tilt Open: Push the sunroof switch upward. The sunroof glass will tilt open. If the power sunshade is closed, it will retract automatically to allow for proper venting.

• Tilt Close: Push the sunroof switch upward or forward when the glass is tilted. The **Kia K4** sunroof glass will return to the closed position.

You can stop the tilt movement at any desired height by pushing the switch in any direction.

Slide open or close

• Manual Slide: Push the sunroof switch backward to the first position to open the glass. If the sunshade is closed, it will open first. Pushing forward to the first position closes the glass, followed by the sunshade.

• Auto Slide: Push the sunroof switch backward or forward to the second position to engage the auto slide feature. Both the power sunshade and the **Kia K4** sunroof glass will open or close automatically.

  To stop the movement at any point, simply push the switch in any direction.

Automatic reversal

The **Kia K4** sunroof is equipped with an intelligent safety sensor. If the power sunshade or sunroof glass detects any obstacle during automatic closing, it will automatically reverse direction and stop at a safe position.

Important: The auto-reverse function may not detect very thin or soft objects caught between the glass and the roof sash.

Resetting the sunroof

Under certain conditions, the electronic control module may lose its calibrated position memory, requiring you to manually reset the sunroof operation for your Kia K4. These instances include:

• Whenever the 12V vehicle battery has been disconnected or experienced a complete discharge.

• Following a replacement of the sunroof system fuse.

• If the 1-touch AUTO OPEN/CLOSE convenience feature is failing to trigger or is operating inconsistently.

Sunroof resetting procedure:

1. Start the Kia K4 and ensure the transmission is in P (Park). It is highly recommended to perform the reset procedure while the engine is actively running to ensure stable voltage.
2. Verify that both the power sunshade and the sunroof glass are in the fully closed, sealed position. If they are currently open, push the overhead switch forward and hold it until both the sunshade and the glass reach their fully closed stops.
3. Release the switch momentarily once the sunshade and glass are confirmed fully closed.
4. Push the switch forward again until the power sunshade and sunroof glass move slightly; then, release the switch immediately.
5. Once again, push and hold the sunroof switch forward. The system will cycle the glass through a full slide open and closed sequence. Do not release the switch until this automated operation is fully completed. If you inadvertently release the switch during this sequence, you must start the procedure again from step 2.

Sunroof open warning

For your security, if the sunroof is not fully closed when the driver turns the ignition OFF, a persistent warning chime will sound for several seconds, and a visual "Sunroof Open" alert will appear on the Kia K4 instrument cluster display. Always ensure the sunroof is closed securely before leaving your vehicle unattended.
