This indicator clearly displays the current gear position selected for your Kia K4:

  • P: Park

  • R: Reverse

  • N: Neutral

  • D: Drive

  • Sports Mode: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8

When operating your Kia K4 in Manual Mode, the shift indicator intelligently suggests the optimal gear to enhance fuel efficiency and engine performance.

  • For the 8-speed Automatic Transmission:

    • Upshift recommendations: ▲2, ▲3, ▲4, ▲5, ▲6, ▲7, ▲8

    • Downshift recommendations: ▼1, ▼2, ▼3, ▼4, ▼5, ▼6, ▼7

Example scenarios:

  1. ▲3: Indicates an upshift to the 3rd gear is recommended to improve efficiency (when currently in 1st or 2nd gear).

  2. ▼3: Indicates a downshift to the 3rd gear is recommended for better torque or engine braking (when currently in 4th, 5th, or 6th gear). Note: If the system detects a fault, the gear indicator may disappear from the display.
