The internal transponder of the smart key communicates effectively when it is within an operational radius of approximately 33 feet (10 m) from the perimeter of the vehicle. Highly sensitive low-frequency interior and exterior antennae hidden within the chassis framework automatically sense the unique digital signature when the smart key is within the functional boundary zone of your Kia K4.

Window Treatment Interference: Please note that tinting the vehicle windows with aftermarket solar films—especially metalized, hybrid carbon, or heavy reflective coatings—may heavily interfere with the high-frequency radio signal of the smart key, significantly reducing its maximum operating range and proximity detection sensitivity.

Lock Function (1)

Mechanical key

In the event that the internal battery of your electronic smart key is completely discharged, or if the proximity transponder fails to operate normally due to outside factors, you can manually lock or unlock the vehicle door cylinder using the integrated mechanical key (2).
