Collision Warning Notification: When the system identifies a potential hazard, the warning light integrated into the outside rearview mirror will begin to blink, a visual warning message will appear prominently on your Kia K4 instrument cluster, and a distinct audible chime will sound to alert occupants.
The Kia K4 Safe Exit Warning system is engineered to provide alerts under the following operational circumstances:
Your Kia K4 vehicle speed is below 2 mph (3 km/h).
The vehicle approaching from the rear is detected traveling at a speed above 4 mph (6 km/h).
WARNING
For your personal safety and to maintain focus, always perform configuration changes to your Kia K4 settings only after the vehicle is fully parked in a secure and stationary location.
The Safe Exit Warning may suppress its warning message or chime if another higher-priority vehicle system is simultaneously triggering an alert.
In high-noise environments, the audible chime of the Safe Exit Warning may be difficult to discern; rely on visual indicators as well.
The Safe Exit Warning system in your Kia K4 does not operate in every conceivable traffic scenario and cannot guarantee the prevention of all potential collisions.
Depending on specific traffic flow, road geometry, and vehicle speed, the warning may be triggered with a slight delay or, in rare instances, may not trigger at all. Always perform a manual visual check of your Kia K4 surroundings.
The driver and all passengers bear the ultimate responsibility for any incidents that occur while exiting the vehicle. Always verify that it is safe to open the doors before exiting your Kia K4.
TIP
After you power OFF your Kia K4, the Safe Exit Warning system remains active for approximately 3 minutes to assist with safe egress; however, the function will deactivate immediately once the vehicle doors are locked.
Please note that graphical icons and alert colors may vary significantly depending on the selected theme and specific trim configurations of your Kia K4 instrument cluster.
