While the vehicle is powered ON, you can configure your preferences by tapping Setup > Vehicle > Driver Assistance > Parking Safety on the Kia K4 infotainment system screen.
Backward Safety: When enabled, this function provides critical warnings or activates automatic braking intervention if the system detects a high risk of collision with pedestrians or objects situated behind your Kia K4.
TIP
For your convenience, when you restart your Kia K4, the "Backward Safety" feature will remain enabled, and your previously configured Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist settings will be retained.
Warning Methods

To customize how your Kia K4 alerts you, ensure the vehicle is ON and navigate to Setup > Vehicle > Driver Assistance > Warning Methods on the infotainment touchscreen. Available adjustments include:
Warning Volume: Modifies the intensity of the audible alert chimes. If you choose to turn OFF the primary Warning Volume, the system may still emit a low-volume chime to prioritize your safety.
Haptic Warning: Enables or disables steering wheel vibration alerts, providing a tactile warning method during potential hazards.
TIP
Configuring Warning Methods in your Kia K4 may globally update the alert settings for other integrated driver assistance systems.
The system stores your chosen Warning Methods, ensuring they persist even after you turn OFF and restart the Kia K4.
Depending on your vehicle's trim and regional software configuration, some menu options may vary.
For safety, the Warning Volume and Haptic Warning cannot be disabled simultaneously; activating one will automatically enable the other.
