Your Kia K4 is equipped with both left and right outside rearview mirrors designed to maximize your visibility of the road behind and to the sides of the vehicle. For your safety, always ensure that the angle of both mirrors is correctly adjusted to your seating position before you begin driving.
Depending on the specific configuration of your Kia K4, you may adjust these mirrors remotely using the interior control levers or the power adjustment switch. Additionally, the mirror housings are designed to fold backward, which is particularly useful for preventing damage when navigating through narrow streets, parking in tight spaces, or entering an automatic car wash.
TIP
Rearview mirror characteristics:
The outside rearview mirror glass is convex. Please keep in mind that objects seen in these mirrors are closer than they appear to be.
Always verify the actual distance of following vehicles by checking your interior rearview mirror or performing a physical head check before attempting to change lanes in your Kia K4.
NOTE
Winter care: To avoid permanent damage to the glass surface, do not scrape ice off the mirror face. If ice build-up restricts the mirror’s movement, do not attempt to force it into position. To safely remove ice, use an approved de-icer spray or gently apply warm water with a soft cloth or sponge.
NOTE
If your Kia K4 mirrors are frozen, never adjust them by force. Use a specialized spray de-icer (do not use radiator antifreeze) to release the frozen mechanism, or relocate your vehicle to a warmer environment and allow the ice to melt naturally.
WARNING
Never adjust or fold the outside rearview mirrors while the Kia K4 is in motion. Attempting to manipulate the mirrors while driving can cause significant driver distraction and lead to a collision, resulting in serious injury or death.
The Kia K4 electric remote control mirror switch allows you to precisely position both the left and right mirrors for optimal coverage.
|
To adjust your outside rearview mirrors, please follow these steps:
NOTE
The internal motors will stop once the mirror reaches its maximum mechanical angle. To prevent motor burnout, do not continue to hold the switch down after the mirror has reached its limit.
Never adjust the outside mirrors by hand. Forcing the mirror glass or housing manually can cause damage to the electric actuator and internal gears of your Kia K4.
Manual type
For vehicles equipped with manually folding mirrors, grasp the outer mirror housing firmly and push it toward the rear of the vehicle to fold it inward against the side window.

The Kia K4 offers an intelligent reverse parking aid feature designed to enhance your visibility during parking maneuvers. When you shift the transmission gear into the R (Reverse) position, the outside rearview mirrors automatically rotate downward, providing a better view of the curb and the ground near the rear tires of your Kia K4.
|
The activation of this feature is controlled by the position of the outside rearview mirror selector switch (1) located on your door panel:
To ensure your convenience, the outside rearview mirrors of the Kia K4 will automatically revert to their original, stored driving positions under the following conditions:
Auto reverse user settings
If the factory-default downward tilt angles do not provide sufficient visibility for your specific driving environment, you can easily customize and save your own preferred mirror angles for the Kia K4. Follow these steps to calibrate the system to your needs:
How to reset auto reverse user settings
If you wish to revert the reverse-tilt functionality of your Kia K4 rearview mirrors to the original factory default specifications, you can perform an initialization process. This is particularly useful if your custom mirror angles no longer provide the visibility you require or if you wish to reset the system to its baseline configuration. Please follow these steps carefully:
TIP
For the most consistent results, Kia strongly recommends following the steps above in the exact sequence provided. If you attempt to skip steps or transition to the next phase before completing the previous one, the mirror angle may not save correctly, or the initialization procedure may fail to execute as intended.
