Kia K4: Mirrors / Inside rearview mirror

Contents:

Adjust the inside rearview mirror so that you can view the entire rear window clearly from your driving position. Ensure this adjustment is finalized before you begin your journey in the Kia K4.

To maintain a clear view, avoid placing bulky items, boxes, or passengers in the rear seat or cargo area that could obstruct the rear window visibility.

WARNING

Mirror adjustment

For your safety, never attempt to adjust the rearview mirror while the Kia K4 is in motion. Adjusting your mirrors while driving can distract you from the road and lead to a loss of vehicle control.

WARNING

Do not modify the factory rearview mirror in any way, including the attachment of aftermarket "wide-view" or stick-on mirrors. Unauthorized modifications may cause injury during an accident or interfere with the deployment path of the airbag system.

NOTE

Mirror cleaning

To clean the mirror surface, use a soft paper towel or microfiber cloth lightly dampened with a dedicated glass cleaner. Do not spray liquid cleaner directly onto the mirror, as liquid may seep into the mirror housing and cause internal electronic damage.

  1. Day position

  2. Night position

Perform all mirror adjustments while the vehicle is parked and the day/night lever is set to the daytime position (1).

When driving at night, pull the day/night lever toward you to the night position (2). This shifts the angle of the mirror to reduce the intense glare from the headlamps of trailing vehicles.

Please remember that while the night position significantly reduces glare, there may be a slight reduction in overall rearview clarity compared to the standard day setting.

Electric Chromic Mirror (ECM):

The Kia K4 may be equipped with an Electric Chromic Mirror (ECM), which automatically manages and reduces glare from the headlights of vehicles behind you. This feature is particularly useful during nighttime or low-light conditions.

The sensor integrated into the rearview mirror continuously monitors ambient light levels around your Kia K4 and automatically adjusts the mirror’s tint level whenever the engine is running, providing a safer and more comfortable driving experience.
