Kia K4: Seats / Headrest (for front seat)

Contents:

The driver and front passenger seats of your Kia K4 are engineered with adjustable headrests to provide vital support and comfort during your journeys.

Adjusting the front seat headrest height in the Kia K4 for optimal neck protection

The headrest serves as a crucial safety component, designed to mitigate head and neck movement in the event of a rear-end collision. To achieve maximum protection in your Kia K4, the center of the headrest should be adjusted to align with the center of gravity of your head—typically level with the height of your eyes.

Maintain the headrest as close to your head as possible. We do not recommend the use of aftermarket cushions between your back and the seatback, as these can push your body away from the protective headrest and alter your seating posture.

WARNING

Headrest Safety Precautions

  • Never operate your Kia K4 with the headrests removed. The headrest is a critical safety device that provides essential support to your cervical spine during a crash.

  • To avoid a loss of vehicle control, never attempt to adjust the height of the headrest while the vehicle is in motion.

CAUTION

Excessive manual force when pushing or pulling the headrest may damage the internal adjustment mechanism of your Kia K4 seats.

Adjusting the height up and down

  1. To raise the headrest, pull it upward steadily to your preferred position (1).
  2. To lower the headrest:
    1. Press and hold the release button (2) located on the headrest support guide.
    2. Slide the headrest down to the desired height (3).

    WARNING

To ensure maximum occupant protection in your Kia K4, always verify that the headrest clicks and locks securely into position after every adjustment.

    CAUTION

If you recline the seatback forward while the headrest and seat cushion are both in their highest positions, the headrest may come into contact with the sun visor or other interior components of your Kia K4.

You can fine-tune the angle of the headrest in your Kia K4 by pulling it forward to one of three distinct positions.

To reset the headrest to its furthest rear position, simply pull the headrest all the way forward until it releases and returns to the initial setting.

We recommend adjusting the headrest to a position that provides consistent support for your head and neck during daily operation of your Kia K4.

  3. Press and hold the headrest release buttons (3) simultaneously while pulling the headrest upward (4) to remove it from the seat frame.

    WARNING

Headrest removal hazard: NEVER allow a passenger to occupy a seat in the Kia K4 if the headrest has been removed or installed in reverse. Properly adjusted headrests provide critical support to the head and neck, potentially preventing severe injury in a collision.

Kia K4 (CL4) 2025-2026 Owner's Manual: Lighting

The Kia K4 is meticulously engineered with a sophisticated lighting system, featuring a wide array of high-performance lights designed to illuminate both the interior cabin and the vehicle's exterior, ensuring optimal visibility and style. Kia K4 (CL4) 2025-2026 Owner's Manual: Why didn’t my air bag go off in a collision? (Inflation and non-inflation conditions of the air bag)

It is a common misconception that airbags should deploy in every accident. In reality, many types of low-energy or specific-angle accidents do not require the supplemental protection that an airbag provides, as the seat belt system alone is designed to be the primary safety restraint. Conditions where airbags may not deploy in your Kia K4 include, but are not limited to, rear-end impacts, secondary or tertiary collisions in multi-impact accidents, and low-speed impacts where the deceleration forces do not meet the strict criteria for airbag activation.
