Inattentive Driving Warning function

The core objective of the Kia K4 Driver Attention Warning system is to help you stay alert by suggesting breaks when necessary.

Taking a break

  1. Consider taking a break

When the Kia K4 detects that your attention level has dropped below the safety threshold, the Inattentive Driving Warning light (Kia K4 fatigue alert icon) will blink, a notification will appear on the instrument cluster, and a chime will sound to suggest a rest period.

  • The Kia K4 system will not trigger a break suggestion if the total driving duration is less than 4 minutes, nor will it suggest a break within 4 minutes of a previously issued warning.

WARNING

For maximum safety, please ensure that you adjust any Kia K4 system settings only while the vehicle is parked in a secure, designated location.

CAUTION

  • The Kia K4 DAW system might suggest a break based on detected driving patterns, even if you personally do not feel tired.

  • Driver Attention Warning is a supplemental safety feature and may not accurately detect every instance of inattentiveness.

  • If you genuinely feel fatigued, please pull over and take a break at a safe location, regardless of whether the Kia K4 system has suggested it.

Leading Vehicle Departure Alert function

  1. Leading vehicle is driving away

When your Kia K4 is at a standstill and the vehicle directly ahead begins to move forward, the Leading Vehicle Departure Alert (LVDA) system will proactively notify you. The Kia K4 informs the driver via a visual warning message on the instrument cluster, accompanied by an audible alert chime to ensure you are ready to resume driving.

WARNING

  • Please be aware that the Leading Vehicle Departure Alert may be suppressed or fail to trigger if another vehicle safety system is currently generating a higher-priority warning message or sound in your Kia K4.

  • As the driver of the Kia K4, you always retain full responsibility for safe vehicle operation and maintaining control, regardless of system alerts.

TIP

  • The Leading Vehicle Departure Alert is designed as a convenience-focused supplemental function. It may not reliably alert you every single time a vehicle ahead departs, particularly in complex or high-traffic scenarios.

  • Always maintain focus on the road ahead and verify traffic conditions manually before initiating movement with your Kia K4.

TIP

Please note that the specific visual icons, text colors, and overall interface layout may appear differently depending on your chosen Kia K4 instrument cluster theme and model configuration.
