Inspecting the climate control air filter
To ensure optimal interior air quality and the efficient operation of your vehicle's HVAC system, please replace the climate control air filter in your Kia K4 according to the maintenance schedule outlined in your owner's manual. If you frequently drive your Kia K4 in urban environments with high air pollution or on dusty, unpaved roads, we recommend having the cabin air filter inspected more frequently and replaced ahead of the standard intervals. Please follow the procedure detailed below, exercising care to avoid damaging surrounding dashboard components during the replacement process.
- Open the glove box, then carefully remove the stoppers located on both sides to allow the compartment to lower fully.
- With the glove box held open, locate and gently pull out the support strap (1) to provide clear access to the filter housing.
- Remove the protective climate control air filter cover by pulling outward on both sides to release the retaining clips.
- Carefully withdraw the old climate control air filter and install a fresh, genuine replacement unit, ensuring it is oriented correctly for proper airflow.
- Reassemble the climate control air filter housing, cover, support strap, and glove box in the precise reverse order of disassembly.
NOTE
When you install the new climate control air filter, ensure it is seated firmly within the housing. Improper installation may result in audible air noise from the ventilation system and a significant reduction in the filter's ability to trap dust and allergens, compromising the air quality inside your Kia K4.
