If the Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA) in your Kia K4 experiences an internal fault, the Master warning light (
) will illuminate on the instrument cluster, accompanied by an explicit warning message that persists for several seconds. If this diagnostic warning appears while operating your Kia K4, please schedule an inspection of the Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist system at an authorized Kia dealer as soon as possible.

In instances where the warning light embedded in the outside rearview mirror of your Kia K4 fails to operate correctly, the Master warning light (
) will display on the instrument cluster. Should this occur, it is essential to have the Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist system evaluated by a certified technician at an authorized Kia dealer to ensure your Kia K4 remains road-safe.

External environmental factors such as snow, mud, or heavy rain accumulating on the rear bumper near the corner radar sensors, or the installation of attachments like trailers or bike carriers, can significantly degrade detection performance. A notification message, along with the Master warning light (), will appear on the instrument cluster. Please note that this is a protective measure and does not necessarily indicate a permanent malfunction of the Kia K4 system.
Once you have thoroughly removed any snow, rain, or physical obstructions (such as a trailer or carrier) from the rear bumper area and restarted the Kia K4, the Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist should resume normal operation. If the system fails to reactivate after cleaning the sensors and clearing obstructions, please contact an authorized Kia dealer for a professional inspection.
