Air bag warning light

The airbag warning light located on your Kia K4 instrument panel is designed to alert you to any potential faults within your Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), including the sensors for the side and curtain airbags utilized for rollover protection.

If the airbag warning light fails to extinguish after more than 6 seconds when you turn the ENGINE START/STOP button to the ON position, or if it illuminates unexpectedly while you are operating your Kia K4, this indicates that an SRS component may not be functioning correctly. In such an event, you should have your Kia K4 inspected immediately by an authorized Kia dealer.

A malfunction in the airbag system is indicated if any of the following conditions occur. Please arrange for an authorized Kia dealer to perform a comprehensive diagnostic inspection as soon as possible:

  • The warning light does not illuminate briefly as a system check when you turn the ENGINE START/STOP button to the ON position.

  • The light remains illuminated after the initial 3–6 second system self-check period has concluded.

  • The light activates or flashes while the Kia K4 is in motion.

  • The light blinks or exhibits erratic behavior when you turn the ENGINE START/STOP button to the ON position.
