Floor mat anchors

To maintain safety and ensure the driver maintains full pedal control, always verify that your floor mat is properly secured to the designated anchors provided in the Kia K4.

Correct installation of floor mat onto Kia K4 anchor points

When installing a floor mat on the front carpeting, it must be locked onto the vehicle's anchor points. This mechanism is critical to prevent the mat from sliding forward during operation.

WARNING

Aftermarket floor mat safety

  • Never install aftermarket floor mats that cannot be securely locked onto the Kia K4 factory floor mat anchors. Unsecured mats are a major safety hazard as they can shift and interfere with the operation of the accelerator or brake pedals.

  • Use only floor mats that fit properly and are not excessively thick. Before installing new mats, ensure all protective plastic film is removed from the carpeting, as this slippery surface can cause the mat to shift and may break the fixed retainer rings.

Pay special attention to the driver's side mat. If a floor mat is not secured, it could cause unintended acceleration or hinder your ability to brake, which could lead to an accident resulting in serious injury or death.

Always adhere to these guidelines when installing ANY floor mat in your Kia K4:

  • Confirm the mats are locked onto the floor mat anchors before you begin driving.

  • Discard any mat that does not firmly attach to the vehicle's anchor system.

  • Never stack multiple floor mats (e.g., placing rubber mats over carpeted ones). Only a single mat should be installed in each seating position.

Cargo net holder

To prevent luggage and smaller items from shifting while driving, utilize the four cargo net holders located throughout the trunk area of your Kia K4. For added versatility, you may fold the cargo net in half and attach it vertically using the secondary two holders located on each side panel.
