When the Kia EV6 high-voltage battery charge reaches the configured discharge limit, the V2L function automatically stops operating and a warning message appears on the instrument cluster. To continue using V2L, set the discharge limit lower than the current battery charge level.
V2L stopped due to excessive power use
|
|
If the connected electronic equipment exceeds the maximum electrical output supported by the Kia EV6 V2L system, V2L operation automatically stops and a warning message appears on the instrument cluster. Always ensure that the combined power consumption of connected devices remains below the maximum V2L output limit.
V2L conditions not met
|
|
If V2L operation is interrupted in the Kia EV6, this warning message may appear for one of the following reasons:
The V2L connector has been switched OFF.
The Kia EV6 V2L connector has overheated.
The charging door was opened while the interior V2L power outlet was in use.
Inspect the V2L connector, charging port, and interior power outlet carefully to ensure there are no connection or overheating issues.
WARNING
Never touch the Kia EV6 V2L connector or charging outlet while damaged or contaminated.
Do not insert metal objects into the V2L connector or charging port, as this may cause electric shock, fire, or severe injury.
Never touch the V2L connector, charging outlet, or power plug with wet hands. Always handle Kia EV6 charging equipment using completely dry hands to reduce the risk of electric shock.
Before connecting the Kia EV6 V2L system, confirm that there is no water, dirt, dust, or foreign material inside the charging outlet, V2L connector, or power plug. Foreign substances may cause electrical shock or fire.
Do not modify, disassemble, or alter the Kia EV6 V2L connector. Unauthorized modifications may increase the risk of fire, electrical shock, or injury.
Using the Kia EV6 V2L system under the following conditions may result in injury or equipment damage:
The V2L connector, charging outlet, charging cable, or power plug is damaged, corroded, cracked, or rusted.
The electrical connection is loose or unstable.
Do not operate damaged electrical appliances using the Kia EV6 V2L system, as damaged equipment may cause fire, electrical shock, or injury.
Never use high-heat electrical appliances such as irons, coffee makers, heaters, or toasters inside the Kia EV6 because these devices may cause overheating, fire, or injury.
CAUTION
To reduce the risk of accidents or damage, always read and follow the Kia EV6 owner’s manual before using the V2L system.
The Kia EV6 V2L discharge mode automatically stops if overheating is detected. If this occurs, inspect the V2L connector, power plug, and connected appliances for contamination, wear, corrosion, damage, or excessive electrical load. Once temperatures return to normal, V2L operation may resume.
Do not modify or disassemble the Kia EV6 V2L connector. Damage caused by unauthorized modification is not covered under the vehicle warranty.
Avoid dropping, striking, or placing heavy objects on the V2L connector.
Always disconnect the Kia EV6 V2L connector after completing V2L operation.
When the high-voltage battery reaches the configured discharge limit, V2L automatically stops operating and a warning message appears on the instrument cluster.
If multiple electronic devices are connected simultaneously to the Kia EV6 V2L system, ensure the combined power consumption does not exceed the maximum supported output.
Some appliances may not function correctly even when their power requirements remain below the maximum Kia EV6 V2L output capacity.
Devices that require high startup current during initial operation.
Precision measuring equipment that requires highly stable electrical output.
Electronic devices sensitive to inverter-generated AC power.
Do not use medical equipment or devices requiring uninterrupted power supply through the Kia EV6 V2L system, since electrical output may be interrupted depending on vehicle conditions.
Only use electronic devices rated below 16A.
Fully extend all extension cords and use only compatible grounded plugs. Damaged or incompatible plugs may cause malfunction or overheating.
Do not use high-power household appliances such as washing machines, dryers, or large air conditioners with the Kia EV6 V2L system.
Do not hang heavy items from power cords or extension cables connected to the Kia EV6.
If multiple appliances are connected, use only certified electrical products that comply with national safety standards.
When operating outdoor equipment, always use waterproof products and avoid using the Kia EV6 V2L system in rain, standing water, or high-humidity environments.
Do not operate the Kia EV6 V2L system outdoors during thunderstorms or when lightning risk is present.
Do not connect multiple portable multi-outlets or use twisted extension cords, as they may overheat and create a fire hazard.
When using the exterior Kia EV6 V2L connector, electrical power is also supplied to the interior outlet. Disconnect any unused electronic devices from the interior power outlet.
While the Kia EV6 V2L system is operating, the cooling fan in the motor compartment may activate automatically even when the vehicle is turned OFF. Keep hands and objects away from the cooling fan area.
NOTE
Connect the Kia EV6 V2L connector to the charging port within approximately 60 seconds after opening the charging door. Once connected, the system automatically locks the connector to help prevent theft.
When using the Kia EV6 V2L system, disable scheduled climate control settings because scheduled climate activation may interrupt V2L operation.
If the Kia EV6 is switched OFF while the interior V2L outlet is in use, V2L discharge mode automatically turns OFF.
If a connected electronic device fails to operate while the green indicator light is illuminated, disconnect the device and reconnect it again.
The Kia EV6 V2L discharge mode automatically turns OFF if the charging door is opened or the exterior V2L connector is connected. If using both interior and exterior V2L functions simultaneously, activate the interior V2L outlet first.

Select the icon on the Kia EV6 infotainment display to access electric vehicle settings. Within this menu, you can configure charging limits, charging current levels, battery conditioning mode, Utility Mode functions, and additional EV-related system settings.
The Kia EV6 EV settings interface allows drivers to customize charging behavior and battery management functions for improved efficiency, charging convenience, and long-term battery durability.
|
|
The Kia EV6 allows you to set a target battery charge level separately for both AC charging and DC fast charging.
The charging target can be adjusted in 10% increments depending on your preferred charging strategy and battery management preferences.
If the currently stored high-voltage battery charge level is already higher than the configured target charge level, the Kia EV6 battery will not continue charging.
Using moderate charging limits during daily driving may help reduce long-term battery degradation and improve overall high-voltage battery lifespan.
|
|
You can adjust the AC charging current level in the Kia EV6 according to charger capacity and charging conditions.
If charging fails to begin or stops unexpectedly during the charging process, select a different charging current setting and try charging the Kia EV6 again.
The total charging time varies depending on the charging current selected within the EV settings menu.
Some high-capacity AC chargers may continue supplying their maximum supported current even if the charging current setting is changed on the Kia EV6 infotainment system.
Lower charging current settings may improve charging stability in locations where household electrical systems or public charging infrastructure are unstable.
The Kia EV6 Utility Mode uses power from the high-voltage battery instead of the standard 12V battery to operate electrical convenience systems and cabin equipment.
When driving is unnecessary — such as during camping, outdoor activities, resting periods, or extended parking — Utility Mode allows the Kia EV6 to operate electrical systems including the audio system, lighting, climate control, ventilation, heating, and infotainment features for extended periods of time.

Kia EV6 2022-2026 Owner's Manual: Reverse Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist (PCA): (if equipped)
Reverse Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist (PCA) in the Kia EV6 is designed to help enhance safety while reversing. Using advanced sensors and monitoring technology, the system can detect pedestrians, obstacles, and potential hazards behind the vehicle. When a collision risk is identified, the Kia EV6 may provide visual and audible warnings and, if necessary, automatically apply braking assistance to help reduce the likelihood of an impact.Kia EV6 2022-2026 Owner's Manual: Highway Lane Change Assist: (if equipped)
