For the Kia EV6 Smart Regeneration System to function correctly and deliver accurate regenerative braking adjustments, the front radar sensor cover must always remain clean and unobstructed.
Accumulated dirt, snow, ice, mud, or road debris on the radar lens can negatively affect sensor operation and may reduce system performance. Under these conditions, the Smart Regeneration System may stop functioning properly or operate with limited capability.

CAUTION
Do not install license plate frames, bumper stickers, decorative accessories, or bumper guards near the radar sensor area, as these components may interfere with the performance of the Kia EV6 radar system.
Always ensure the radar sensor and sensor lens cover remain clean and free from contamination or debris.
Use only a soft cloth and gentle washing methods when cleaning the vehicle. Avoid directing high-pressure water streams toward the radar sensor or sensor cover.
Avoid applying excessive force to the radar sensor or its cover. If the sensor alignment is altered, the Kia EV6 Smart Regeneration System may not operate correctly, even if no warning message appears on the cluster. Have the system inspected by an authorized Kia dealer if damage or misalignment is suspected.
If the front bumper area surrounding the radar sensor becomes damaged, the Smart Regeneration System may fail to operate normally. Inspection by an authorized Kia dealer is recommended.
Genuine Kia radar sensor covers are engineered to meet strict quality and performance standards. Repainting, modifying, or replacing the cover with non-approved components may negatively affect Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) and other driver assistance systems. Always use Kia Genuine Parts or equivalent certified components for repairs or replacements.
The following warning message may appear if the Kia EV6 Smart Regeneration System is not operating correctly or if the radar-based regenerative braking assistance encounters an issue.

This message appears whenever the Smart Regeneration System in the Kia EV6 fails to function as intended. Once the malfunction is detected, the system will automatically deactivate, the AUTO indication disappears from the cluster, and the display switches back to the currently selected regenerative braking level.
Inspect the front radar sensor area carefully for dirt, snow, ice, mud, or any foreign materials that could obstruct sensor operation. Remove any contamination that may interfere with the radar functionality. If the Kia EV6 Smart Regeneration System still does not return to normal operation after cleaning the sensor area, have the vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer for professional diagnosis and repair.
The Kia EV6 Smart Regeneration System may not function properly under certain road, weather, or traffic conditions when the surrounding environment exceeds the operational limitations of the front radar sensor.
Drivers should remain attentive at all times because the system may occasionally react unexpectedly or fail to respond appropriately depending on driving conditions.
