A: Collision Warning

If the Kia EV6 Safe Exit Warning system detects an approaching vehicle from the rear side area while a passenger attempts to open a door, the outside rear view mirror warning light will blink and a warning message will appear on the instrument cluster.

The Kia EV6 will additionally generate an audible warning sound to help alert passengers of the approaching vehicle.

  • Kia EV6 Safe Exit Warning may operate under the following approximate conditions:

    • Your Kia EV6 speed is below approximately 2 mph (3 km/h).

    • The speed of the approaching vehicle from the rear is above approximately 4 mph (6 km/h).

The Kia EV6 Safe Exit Warning system is especially useful in urban traffic, roadside parking situations, school pickup areas, and narrow streets with passing traffic.

WARNING

  • For safety reasons, adjust Kia EV6 Safe Exit Warning settings only after parking the vehicle in a safe location.

  • The Kia EV6 Safe Exit Warning system may not display warning messages or generate audible warnings if another driver assistance system warning is already active at the same time.

  • You may not hear the Kia EV6 Safe Exit Warning audible alerts clearly in noisy surroundings or heavy traffic conditions.

  • Kia EV6 Safe Exit Warning does not operate in all situations and cannot prevent every possible collision.

  • The Kia EV6 Safe Exit Warning system may issue warnings late or may not provide warnings depending on road conditions, traffic flow, weather, or the speed of approaching vehicles.

Always visually check surrounding traffic conditions before opening the vehicle doors.

  • The driver and passengers are fully responsible for accidents or injuries that occur while exiting the Kia EV6.

Always carefully check surroundings before leaving the vehicle.

  • Never rely solely on Kia EV6 Safe Exit Warning to detect bicycles, motorcycles, pedestrians, or small fast-moving vehicles.

NOTE

  • After the Kia EV6 is turned OFF, Safe Exit Warning continues operating for approximately 3 minutes.

However, the system turns OFF immediately if the vehicle doors are locked.

  • The displayed Kia EV6 images, warning graphics, and colors may vary depending on instrument cluster specifications, software version, or selected display theme.

  • Kia EV6 Safe Exit Warning performance may temporarily decrease in heavy rain, snow, fog, or poor visibility conditions.

If your Kia EV6 has been parked under direct sunlight during extremely hot weather, slightly open the windows for a short period before driving to release trapped hot air from the cabin more quickly.
