While the Kia EV6 is in DRIVE READY mode, tap Setup > Vehicle > Driver Assistance > Driving Safety > Safe Exit on the infotainment system display to configure Safe Exit Assist settings.

The Kia EV6 Safe Exit Assist system is designed to help improve passenger safety by warning occupants about approaching vehicles before opening the doors.

This advanced Kia EV6 driver assistance feature is especially useful in crowded urban traffic, roadside parking situations, school pickup areas, and narrow streets with passing traffic.

WARNING

Always remain aware of surrounding traffic conditions when exiting the Kia EV6.

If Exit Safety is deselected or turned OFF, the Kia EV6 Safe Exit Assist system cannot provide warnings or assistance.

CAUTION

When using a Kia Genuine Trailer Kit with the connector plugged into the Kia EV6, Safe Exit Assist automatically turns OFF.

In this condition, the Kia EV6 cannot provide Safe Exit Assist warnings or door locking support.

Extra caution is required whenever the function is inactive.

A Kia Genuine Trailer Kit allows the Kia EV6 to recognize when a trailer is connected.

NOTE

When the Kia EV6 is restarted, Safe Exit Assist maintains the previously selected system setting.
