Kia EV6 Parking Safety control button display

Press the Parking Safety (Kia EV6 Parking Safety activation icon) button to activate the Kia EV6 Forward, Side, and Reverse Parking Distance Warning functions. Press the button again to deactivate the system.

  • When the gear selector is shifted into R (Reverse), the Kia EV6 Parking Distance Warning system automatically turns ON and the Parking Safety indicator illuminates.

Forward Parking Distance Warning

The Kia EV6 Forward Parking Distance Warning system operates whenever one of the following conditions is satisfied:

  • The gear selector is shifted from R (Reverse) into D (Drive) while Reverse Parking Distance Warning remains active.

  • The gear selector is in D (Drive) and the Parking Safety (Kia EV6 parking warning indicator icon) button indicator remains illuminated.

  • Forward Parking Distance Warning provides alerts while driving in D (Drive).

    (If Setup > Vehicle > Driver Assistance > Parking Safety > Parking Distance Warning Auto On is selected within the Kia EV6 infotainment system.)

NOTE

  • The Kia EV6 Forward Parking Distance Warning system operates only when vehicle speed is below 6 mph (10 km/h).

  • When the Kia EV6 is in R (Reverse), no warning is issued for objects positioned directly inside the front detection area. Only objects located outside the front area within approximately 24 in (60 cm) will trigger a warning.

  • If Parking Distance Warning Auto On is disabled, the Kia EV6 Forward Parking Distance Warning system automatically deactivates when vehicle speed exceeds 20 mph (30 km/h), indicated by the Parking Safety button turning OFF.

Battery level has reached the set value When the Kia EV6 high-voltage battery charge reaches the configured discharge limit, the V2L function automatically stops operating and a warning message appears on the instrument cluster. To continue using V2L, set the discharge limit lower than the current battery charge level.

Under the following conditions, Smart Cruise Control on the Kia EV6 may operate abnormally, react later than expected, or function differently from normal operation. Drivers should always remain alert and avoid relying entirely on automated assistance systems. The detection sensor or surrounding sensor area is contaminated, obstructed, damaged, or covered with dirt, snow, water, ice, or road debris.
