When the Kia EV6 high-voltage battery charge level reaches approximately 20% (25% for the standard battery type) or lower, this warning message appears on the instrument cluster.
At the same time, the warning light (
) illuminates to alert the driver that the
remaining
driving range is becoming limited.
Recharge the Kia EV6 high-voltage battery as soon as possible at the nearest available charging station.
Charge immediately. Power limited
|
|
When the Kia EV6 high-voltage battery charge level falls to approximately 10% (15% for the standard battery type) or lower, this warning message is displayed.
The warning light (
) also illuminates on the
instrument cluster
simultaneously.
To reduce additional battery energy consumption and help protect the high-voltage battery system, vehicle output power is automatically limited. Recharge the Kia EV6 battery immediately.
Check electric vehicle system
|
|
This warning message appears when the Kia EV6 electric vehicle control system detects a malfunction or abnormal operating condition.
WARNING
If this warning message appears, park the Kia EV6 safely and have the vehicle transported to the nearest authorized Kia dealer for inspection.
Do not continue driving the Kia EV6 while this warning message is displayed.
Power limited
|
|
Under the following conditions, this warning message appears when the Kia EV6 temporarily limits output power to help protect high-voltage electrical components and maintain safe vehicle operation.
The high-voltage battery charge level is critically low or battery voltage is decreasing.
The high-voltage battery temperature is excessively high or excessively low.
The electric drive motor temperature has become too high.
The hood is open.
WARNING
Do not accelerate aggressively or attempt sudden vehicle launches while this warning message is displayed. If the Kia EV6 battery level is low, recharge the battery immediately.
NOTE
When the Kia EV6 limits power to protect high-voltage electrical components, the power down indicator light also illuminates. Under these conditions, the vehicle may have reduced acceleration capability or may roll backward slightly on steep inclines because of limited motor output.
Power limited due to low EV battery temperature. Charge battery
|
|
This warning message appears to protect the Kia EV6 electric vehicle system when the high-voltage battery temperature is extremely low while the EV button is in the POWER ON position.
Vehicle power may be reduced if the high-voltage battery charge level is low and the Kia EV6 has been parked for an extended period in cold weather conditions.
Charging the high-voltage battery before driving helps increase battery temperature and improve available vehicle power and driving performance.
CAUTION
If this warning message remains displayed even when ambient temperature conditions are sufficiently warm, have the Kia EV6 inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.
Battery overheated! Stop vehicle
|
|
This warning message appears when the Kia EV6 high-voltage battery temperature becomes excessively high and the system activates protective measures.
Stop the vehicle safely and press the EV button to the OFF position to help reduce battery temperature.
WARNING
If this warning message continues to appear after the Kia EV6 has remained switched OFF for a sufficient amount of time, do not continue driving the vehicle. Have the vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer immediately.
Stop vehicle and check power supply
|
|
This warning message appears when a malfunction is detected within the Kia EV6 12V power supply system.
If this warning message appears, park the Kia EV6 safely and have the vehicle transported to the nearest authorized Kia dealer for inspection and repair.
Unplug vehicle to start
|
|
This message appears when attempting to start the Kia EV6 while the charging cable remains connected to the charging inlet.
Disconnect the charging cable completely before attempting to start or drive the Kia EV6.
Unplug vehicle to start
This message appears when attempting to start the Kia EV6 while the charging cable is still connected to the charging inlet.
When this condition occurs, the Kia EV6 cannot be shifted out of P (Park). Disconnect the charging cable completely, then press the EV button to the POWER ON position before driving.
Charging Door Open
|
|
This warning message appears when the Kia EV6 is driven while the charging door remains open.
Close the charging door securely before continuing to drive the vehicle.
Charging Stopped. Check the AC charger./Charging Stopped. Check the DC charger.
|
|
|
|
This warning message appears when the Kia EV6 charging process stops unexpectedly for one of the following reasons:
There is a malfunction with the external AC charger or DC fast charger.
The external charging station has stopped supplying power.
The charging cable or charging connector is damaged or improperly connected.
If this occurs, inspect the charging station, charging connector, and charging cable carefully for visible problems or interruptions.
If the same warning continues to appear while charging the Kia EV6 with a genuine Kia portable charger or another approved charging station, have the vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.
Charging interrupted. Please check the cable connection
|
|
This warning message appears in the following situations:
The charging connector is not securely connected to the Kia EV6 charging inlet.
The charging connector lock release button has been pressed.
If this occurs, disconnect the charging connector completely and reconnect it securely.
Inspect the charging connector and charging inlet carefully for foreign substances, dirt, moisture, damage, or contamination.
If the same warning continues while charging the Kia EV6 using a replacement charging cable or genuine Kia portable charger, have the vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.
Check regenerative brakes
|
|
This warning message appears when the Kia EV6 regenerative braking system is not operating correctly.
If this warning message appears, have the regenerative braking system inspected by an authorized Kia dealer as soon as possible.
Check Virtual Engine Sound System
|
|
This message appears when the Kia EV6 Virtual Engine Sound System (VESS) detects a malfunction.
If this warning message is displayed, have the vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.
Check Active Air Flap System
|
|
This warning message appears under the following conditions:
There is a malfunction with the active air flap actuator.
There is a malfunction with the active air flap control module.
The air flap does not open or close correctly.
Once the problem is corrected, the warning message disappears automatically.
Refill coolant
|
|
This warning message appears when the Kia EV6 coolant level becomes low.
If this message appears, stop driving safely and inspect the coolant level immediately.
Driving the Kia EV6 for an extended period with insufficient coolant may cause serious damage to electrical components, battery cooling systems, or other high-voltage systems, and may eventually prevent normal vehicle operation.
The Kia EV6 Virtual Engine Sound System (VESS) generates an artificial driving sound to help pedestrians recognize the presence of the vehicle while driving at low speeds, because electric vehicles operate almost silently.
The VESS system activates automatically when the Kia EV6 is in READY mode and the gear selector is not in P (Park).
The Virtual Engine Sound System improves awareness for nearby pedestrians, cyclists, and other road users, especially in parking lots, residential streets, and low-speed urban driving situations.
WARNING
The Virtual Engine Sound System is only a supplemental safety feature. It is not intended to replace attentive driving practices or driver awareness. Always monitor your surroundings carefully while operating the Kia EV6.
CAUTION
The Kia EV6 does not generate the same engine noise as a conventional gasoline vehicle. Always remain aware of nearby pedestrians and obstacles while driving.
After parking the Kia EV6 or while stopped at intersections and crosswalks, carefully check the area around the vehicle for children, pets, bicycles, or other hazards.
When driving the Kia EV6 in reverse, verify that the area behind the vehicle is clear. Pedestrians may not immediately notice the vehicle because of the quiet operation of the electric drivetrain.
