Shift the transmission into R (Reverse) during either of the following stages:
Checking available exit space.
Selecting the exit direction.
Press the Parking Safety button (
) or select Cancel on
the
infotainment display to deactivate the Smart Exit function in the Kia EV6.
While Smart Exit is operating, if the Kia EV6 is brought to a stop by pressing the brake pedal and the transmission is shifted into another gear, the exit maneuver will be cancelled immediately. Under these conditions, the EPB (Electronic Parking Brake) will not engage automatically.
The function will pause in the following conditions when:
Whenever the Smart Exit function is paused, the Kia EV6 will stop in a controlled manner. If the condition that caused the interruption is removed, the system may continue operating when the necessary requirements are met again.
A pedestrian, animal, vehicle, or other obstacle is detected in the intended travel path of the Kia EV6.
A door or the liftgate is opened during Smart Exit operation.
The driver's seat belt is not fastened properly.
Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist or Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist intervenes while the Kia EV6 is being controlled in reverse.
The Parking/View button (
) is released
and
not continuously pressed as required.
The vehicle is stopped by pressing the brake pedal.
The function will cancel in the following conditions when:
When the Smart Exit function is cancelled, the Kia EV6 automatically stops, shifts into P (Park), and applies the EPB (Electronic Parking Brake) to secure the vehicle.
Smart Exit
The steering wheel is turned manually by the driver.
The transmission is shifted while the Kia EV6 is moving.
The EPB is activated while the vehicle is in motion.
The hood is opened.
The driver's door is opened while the seat belt remains unfastened.
Rapid acceleration or abnormal vehicle movement is detected.
The Kia EV6 experiences wheel slip or skidding.
A wheel becomes trapped against an obstacle and cannot rotate normally.
Pedestrians, animals, or obstacles are detected simultaneously in front of and behind the vehicle.
Approximately 3 minutes and 50 seconds have elapsed since the Smart Exit maneuver began.
The road gradient exceeds the allowable operating limits of the system.
The Smart Exit function remains paused for more than one minute.
The steering, braking, transmission, or drive systems are not functioning normally.
The ABS, TCS, or ESC systems intervene because of slippery road conditions.
The charging door is opened while the Kia EV6 is operating.
