Driver Attention Warning function

The primary Kia EV6 Driver Attention Warning functions include the following:

  • Taking a break

Taking a break

  1. Consider taking a break

If the Kia EV6 Driver Attention Warning system determines that the driver’s attention level has decreased below a certain threshold, the inattentive warning light (Kia EV6 inattentive driving warning icon) will blink.

A warning message will appear on the Kia EV6 instrument cluster and an audible warning sound will be generated to recommend that the driver take a break.

This Kia EV6 function is especially useful during long highway trips, nighttime driving, or extended periods of continuous driving where fatigue may gradually reduce concentration.

  • Kia EV6 Driver Attention Warning will not recommend a break if the total driving time is shorter than approximately 4 minutes, or within 4 minutes after the previous break recommendation.

WARNING

For safety reasons, only change Kia EV6 Driver Attention Warning settings after parking the vehicle in a safe location.

CAUTION

  • The Kia EV6 Driver Attention Warning system may suggest taking a break based on driving patterns or habits even if the driver does not personally feel fatigued.

  • Kia EV6 Driver Attention Warning is a supplemental assistance function and may not always accurately determine whether the driver is inattentive or fatigued.

  • If the driver feels tired or drowsy, always stop and rest at a safe location even if the Kia EV6 Driver Attention Warning system has not issued a break recommendation.

Leading Vehicle Departure Alert function

  • Leading vehicle is driving away

When a detected vehicle ahead begins moving away from a stop, the Kia EV6 Leading Vehicle Departure Alert function informs the driver by displaying a warning message on the instrument cluster and generating an audible alert.

This Kia EV6 feature can help the driver respond more quickly during stop-and-go traffic, intersections, traffic lights, or congested urban driving situations.

WARNING

  • Kia EV6 Leading Vehicle Departure Alert may not display a warning message or produce an audible warning if another Driver Assistance system warning is already active at the same time.

  • The driver is always responsible for safe vehicle operation and maintaining awareness of surrounding traffic conditions.

CAUTION

  • Kia EV6 Leading Vehicle Departure Alert is a supplemental function and may not always warn when the vehicle ahead begins moving.

  • Always check the road ahead and surrounding traffic conditions before accelerating or moving the Kia EV6 forward.

NOTE

The displayed Kia EV6 images, graphics, colors, and cluster themes may differ depending on instrument cluster specifications, display configuration, software version, or regional settings.
