The active air flap system in the Kia EV6 automatically controls the airflow openings located beneath the front bumper in order to cool key vehicle components and improve aerodynamic efficiency and electric driving range.
By adjusting airflow dynamically according to driving conditions, battery temperature, and cooling requirements, the Kia EV6 active air flap system helps optimize overall energy efficiency and thermal management.

The Kia EV6 active air flap system may not function correctly if foreign materials obstruct the flap mechanism or if snow, ice, rain, or dirt contaminates the actuator or control components.
If this warning message appears on the instrument cluster, safely park the Kia EV6 and inspect the condition of the air flap system for visible blockage or contamination.
After removing foreign material or debris, restart the Kia EV6 after approximately 10 minutes. If the warning message remains visible, have the vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.
CAUTION
Even if no warning message is displayed, visually inspect the active air flaps if they appear asymmetrical or partially open on vehicles equipped with exposed flap designs. Turn the Kia EV6 off and restart the vehicle after approximately 10 minutes to recheck flap operation.
The active air flap system uses electric motors and precision actuators. Do not apply excessive force, manually reposition the flaps, or interfere with system movement, as damage or malfunction may occur.
NOTE
The Kia EV6 active air flap system may continue operating automatically regardless of vehicle status, including while parked, charging, or driving.
