If your Kia EV6 has been parked under direct sunlight during extremely hot weather, slightly open the windows for a short period before driving to release trapped hot air from the cabin more quickly.
During rainy or humid weather conditions, operating the Kia EV6 air conditioning system helps reduce moisture buildup inside the cabin and minimizes windshield fogging.
While the Kia EV6 A/C system is operating, you may occasionally notice small changes in vehicle sound or compressor activity as the climate system cycles automatically. This is a normal operating characteristic of the electric climate control system.
For optimal Kia EV6 climate control performance, operate the air conditioning system for several minutes at least once each month, even during colder seasons.
While using the Kia EV6 air conditioning system, you may notice clear water dripping underneath the passenger side of the vehicle. This condensation is completely normal and occurs during regular cooling operation.
Operating the Kia EV6 A/C system in recirculation mode provides the fastest and strongest cooling performance. However, using recirculated air continuously for extended periods may cause the cabin air to become stale.
During cooling operation in humid environments, a light mist may occasionally appear from the Kia EV6 air vents because of rapid cooling and moisture condensation. This is a normal climate control characteristic.

Climate control air filter

The Kia EV6 climate control air filter helps remove dust, pollen, and other airborne contaminants entering the vehicle from outside.

Over time, dust and pollutants may accumulate inside the filter, reducing airflow from the Kia EV6 ventilation outlets. Reduced airflow may also contribute to moisture buildup on the inside of the windshield, even when Fresh Air mode is selected.

When airflow performance decreases or unpleasant odors are present, replace the Kia EV6 climate control air filter. If replacement is difficult, have the filter serviced by an authorized Kia dealer.

CAUTION

Replace the Kia EV6 climate control air filter according to the recommended maintenance schedule. Failure to replace the filter regularly may result in reduced airflow, decreased heating and cooling performance, increased windshield fogging, and unpleasant odors inside the cabin.

NOTE

If airflow from the Kia EV6 air vents suddenly becomes weak or inconsistent, have the climate control system inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.

CAUTION

Using the incorrect refrigerant type or incorrect amount of compressor oil may damage the Kia EV6 climate control system. To help prevent damage, the air conditioning system should only be serviced by trained and certified technicians.

Checking the amount of air conditioner refrigerant and compressor lubricant

Insufficient refrigerant reduces Kia EV6 air conditioning performance, while excessive refrigerant filling may also negatively affect the climate control system.

If abnormal Kia EV6 climate system operation is detected, have the vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.

The refrigerant and compressor oil used in the Kia EV6 air conditioning system operate under extremely high pressure. Failure to follow proper service procedures may cause an explosion or serious system failure. To reduce the risk of severe injury or death, the Kia EV6 air conditioning system should only be serviced by trained and certified technicians.

Vehicles equipped with R-1234yf

The Kia EV6 uses mildly flammable R-1234yf refrigerant that operates under high pressure. For this reason, servicing must only be performed by properly trained and certified technicians in accordance with SAE J2845 standards.

Using the correct refrigerant type and correct amount of compressor oil is essential for proper Kia EV6 climate control operation and long-term reliability.

All refrigerants must be recovered using approved service equipment. Releasing refrigerant directly into the atmosphere is harmful to both people and the environment.

Failure to follow these Kia EV6 refrigerant safety precautions may result in serious injuries or damage to the vehicle.

V2L has ended. Battery level has reached the set value When the Kia EV6 high-voltage battery charge reaches the configured discharge limit, the V2L function automatically stops operating and a warning message appears on the instrument cluster. To continue using V2L, set the discharge limit lower than the current battery charge level.

The Kia EV6 is equipped with multiple interior lighting elements designed to improve cabin visibility, convenience, and premium atmosphere throughout the vehicle interior. Avoid using the Kia EV6 interior lights for extended periods while the vehicle is switched OFF. Extended operation of interior lighting may discharge the 12V auxiliary battery.
