Kia Seltos: Specifications, Consumer Information and Reporting Safety Defects / Consumer Assistance (U.S. only)

Roadside Assistance is provided for all new current model year Kia vehicles from the date the vehicle is delivered to the first retail buyer or first placed into service, whichever occurs earlier. Coverage is provided for 60 months or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first, subject to the terms, conditions, and exclusions listed in the Kia Warranty and Consumer Information Manual for the applicable model year.

Kia America, Inc. reserves the right to limit or deny services or other benefits to any owner or driver when, in Kia America, Inc.'s judgment, claims or service requests are excessive in frequency or type of occurrence.

Keeping the VIN, tire label information, refrigerant label, and engine number accessible can make service, warranty support, and consumer assistance for the Kia Seltos faster and more accurate.

Toll free consumer assistance

Toll-free consumer assistance for Kia Seltos owners is available from 5:00 AM to 6:00 PM PST, Monday through Friday, by calling 1-800-333-4542.

For more detailed information about available assistance, coverage terms, and owner support, refer to the Kia Warranty & Consumer Information Manual provided with your vehicle.

Emergency roadside assistance

Emergency roadside assistance is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and can be reached by calling 1-800-333-4542.

When calling for roadside assistance, you must provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to verify coverage. The VIN can be found on the driver's side dashboard, on the driver's door jamb, on your vehicle registration, or on your proof of insurance card.

Kia uses a large roadside assistance network with more than 30,000 service providers. If you accidentally run out of fuel, need a battery jump-start, or require help changing a tire, a Kia Roadside Assistance Representative can arrange delivery of a small amount of fuel, assist with changing a flat tire using your properly inflated spare tire, or dispatch help for a battery jump so you can continue your trip.

Kia also has access to a network of more than 10,000 locksmiths to assist if you become locked out of your Kia Seltos.

If a warranty-related mechanical problem makes your Kia Seltos undriveable, a Kia Roadside Assistance Representative will arrange transportation of the vehicle to the nearest Kia dealer or an authorized Kia alternative service location.

Your vehicle must be accessible to the dispatched transport vehicle, as determined by the service driver, in order to receive towing or transport service.

Kia Seltos consumer assistance and roadside assistance notice

NOTICE

Roadside Assistance benefits are not available for any Kia vehicle that has ever been issued, or should have been issued, a "salvage" title or similar branded title under any state's law, or has been declared a "total loss" or equivalent by a financial institution or insurance company.

Trip interruption

Trip interruption expense benefits may be provided if a warranty-related disablement occurs more than 150 miles from your home and the required repairs take more than 24 hours to complete.

Reasonable reimbursement may be available for meals, lodging, or rental vehicle expenses. Trip interruption coverage is limited to $100 per day, with a maximum of three days per incident.

You must contact the Kia Roadside Assistance Center to obtain pre-authorization before incurring expenses. Once the Kia Roadside Assistance Center authorizes trip interruption benefits, they will assist you with the necessary arrangements.

Insurance deductibles, expenses, and claims paid by your insurance company or other providers are not eligible for reimbursement.

Fleet vehicles are excluded from reimbursement under Kia's Trip Interruption Policy.

Keeping your Kia Seltos VIN, warranty information, and insurance details easily accessible can help speed up roadside assistance and consumer support when you need help during travel.

Registering your vehicle in a foreign country

If you plan to register your Kia Seltos in another country, confirm in advance that the vehicle complies with all regulations in that country. Even if registration is accepted, you may still experience service, fuel, warranty, or parts-related issues that should be considered before moving the vehicle abroad.

  1. The fuel specified for your Kia Seltos may not be available in the foreign country. Using fuel other than the specified type may damage the engine, fuel injection system, and other fuel-related components. Such damage may not be covered under the New Vehicle Emissions Limited Warranty.

  2. If you leave the country where your Kia Seltos was originally purchased new and register it in another country, problems caused by using fuel other than the specified fuel are not covered by the manufacturer's warranty. In addition, because vehicles like yours may not be sold in the new country of registration, the required parts, service procedures, diagnostic equipment, and repair tools may not be available.

Even if similar Kia Seltos models are sold in that country, government-required mechanical specifications may differ enough from the original country of purchase to create additional service or compatibility problems.

  3. There may not be an authorized Kia dealer in the area where you plan to register the vehicle. You may also experience difficulty obtaining proper service in a foreign country for various reasons, including parts availability, local regulations, and technical differences.

Kia cannot assume responsibility for problems that result from unsatisfactory service or lack of service outside the United States.

Kia Seltos SP2 (2021-2026) Owner's Manual: Idle Stop and Go (ISG) system

The Idle Stop and Go (ISG) system in the Kia Seltos helps reduce fuel consumption by automatically turning off the engine when the vehicle is stopped, such as at a red light, stop sign, or in heavy traffic. The engine restarts automatically as soon as the required starting conditions are met, allowing the driver to continue smoothly without using the ignition switch or ENGINE START/STOP button manually.

Kia Seltos SP2 (2021-2026) Owner's Manual: AWD mode

AWD mode helps improve the driving performance of the Kia Seltos by controlling power delivery to all four wheels. This system supports better traction and stability when road conditions change, especially on wet, slippery, sandy, muddy, or uneven surfaces. You can switch from AWD AUTO mode to AWD Lock mode by pressing the AWD Lock mode switch.
