Kia EV6 manual power window operation Type A

To open or close a window in the Kia EV6, gently press down or pull up the front section of the corresponding window switch to the first detent position (1).

Type B - Auto up/down window: (if equipped)

Pressing or pulling the Kia EV6 power window switch briefly to the second detent position (2) will completely open or close the window automatically, even after the switch is released.

To stop the window at a preferred position while it is moving, briefly press or pull the switch again.

If the Kia EV6 automatic power window system does not operate correctly, perform the following reset procedure:

  1. Turn the EV button to the POWER ON or DRIVE READY position.

  2. Fully close the window, then continue pulling upward on the power window switch for at least 1 additional second after the window has completely closed.

The Kia EV6 automatic window system is engineered to deliver smooth and quiet operation while improving cabin convenience during daily driving.

Automatic reversal (For Type B)

Kia EV6 automatic reversal safety feature for power windows

If the upward movement of the Kia EV6 automatic window is blocked by an object or body part, the system will detect the resistance and immediately stop the window movement.

After detecting resistance, the window will automatically lower slightly to allow the obstruction to be removed safely.

The automatic reversal system may not detect very light resistance or may not activate if the power window switch is continuously held at the first detent position.

If the Kia EV6 power window detects resistance while the switch is continuously held at the second detent position, the window will stop and move downward slightly.

If the switch is pulled upward to the second detent position again within 5 seconds after the automatic reversal function activates, the automatic reversal system will not operate. Always inspect the window path carefully before raising any window.

NOTE

The automatic reversal safety feature in the Kia EV6 operates only when the “auto up” function is activated by fully pulling the switch upward. The reversal feature does not operate when the window is raised using the halfway switch position.

Always verify that the window area is clear before closing any Kia EV6 window to avoid possible injury or damage.

WARNING

Always check for obstructions before closing a Kia EV6 window. Objects smaller than approximately 0.16 inch (4 mm) caught between the window glass and upper channel may not be detected by the automatic reverse system.

WARNING

The automatic reverse feature does not function while resetting the Kia EV6 power window system. Keep hands, fingers, and all objects safely away from the window opening during the reset process.

WARNING

Do not install accessories or attachments that extend into the Kia EV6 window opening area, as they could prevent the automatic reverse safety function from operating correctly.

Power window lock button

The Kia EV6 allows the driver to disable the rear passenger power window switches by pressing the power window lock button into the locked position.

When the Kia EV6 power window lock feature is activated:

  • The driver’s master switch can still control both front and rear power windows.

  • The front passenger remains able to operate the front passenger window independently.

  • The rear passengers are prevented from operating the rear side windows from their door switches.

This Kia EV6 safety function is especially useful when traveling with children or pets in the rear seating area.

CAUTION

Opening/Closing Window

To help protect the Kia EV6 power window system from unnecessary strain, avoid operating two or more windows at the same time whenever possible. This also helps preserve fuse life and overall system durability.

Always verify that hands, arms, heads, clothing, and any other objects are safely clear of the window opening before closing a window.

If the Kia EV6 window cannot close due to an obstruction, remove the object first and then operate the window again.

WARNING

Power Windows

  • Do not allow children to play with the Kia EV6 power window controls. Keep the power window lock button on the driver’s door in the LOCK position whenever children are riding in the vehicle.

  • Never extend your face, hands, or arms outside the Kia EV6 window opening while the vehicle is moving, as this may lead to serious injury.

Remote window opening: (if equipped)

Kia EV6 remote window opening feature with smart key

The Kia EV6 remote window opening feature allows you to lower the windows even when the vehicle is turned off.

Press and hold the door unlock button (1) on the smart key for more than 3 seconds. Once the doors unlock, the windows will begin to lower as long as the unlock button remains pressed.

The Kia EV6 windows will stop moving immediately once the button is released.

This convenient ventilation feature can help reduce cabin heat buildup during hot weather conditions.

WARNING

Leaving the Kia EV6 windows open after using the remote window opening feature may increase the risk of theft or unauthorized access to the vehicle.

CAUTION

Using the remote window opening feature during rain or wet weather may allow water to enter the cabin and could cause electrical or interior damage.

NOTE

  • The Kia EV6 remote window opening function may stop unexpectedly if you move too far away from the vehicle while the windows are operating. Stay near the vehicle and monitor the windows during operation.

  • If one window encounters resistance and stops, the remaining Kia EV6 windows may continue operating. Always confirm that all desired windows have opened completely.

  • Exercise caution when using this feature because the vehicle doors become unlocked during operation.

NOTE

The Kia EV6 remote window opening feature is available only on vehicles equipped with the automatic up/down power window function.
