Remote Smart Parking Assist in the Kia EV6 may not operate normally under the following specific circumstances:
|
When parking on steep uphill or downhill surfaces, the Kia EV6 should be parked manually. Remote Smart Parking Assist may not accurately control vehicle movement on significant slopes.
|
Remote Smart Parking Assist may stop operating if the Kia EV6 loses traction, slips, or becomes unable to move because of gravel, loose stones, rough pavement, or other challenging road conditions.
|
Avoid using Remote Smart Parking Assist when parking near buses, trucks, large vans, or vehicles with unusually high ground clearance. Such vehicles may reduce sensor accuracy and increase the risk of a collision involving the Kia EV6.
|
Parking performance may be reduced when narrow objects, circular columns, square pillars, or structures surrounded by obstacles are located near the intended parking space. In these situations, the driver should manually park the Kia EV6 and verify all clearances visually.
|
When adjacent vehicles are parked improperly, outside parking lines, or at unusual angles, Remote Smart Parking Assist may have difficulty calculating a safe parking path. Under these conditions, manually positioning the Kia EV6 may provide safer and more accurate results.
WARNING
Remote Smart Parking Assist is a supplemental convenience feature and should never replace careful observation of the vehicle's surroundings. Drivers of the Kia EV6 must continuously monitor nearby pedestrians, vehicles, animals, and obstacles and be prepared to intervene immediately whenever necessary.
When Remote Smart Parking Assist is used in a parking area where an adjacent vehicle is parked improperly or outside the designated parking lines, the Kia EV6 may temporarily move across a parking-space boundary to maintain a safe distance from the nearby vehicle. However, when parking lines are clearly visible and accurately recognized, Remote Smart Parking Assist helps position the Kia EV6 parallel to the parking markings for a more precise and controlled parking maneuver.
|
Remote Smart Parking Assist may not function optimally when the Kia EV6 is attempting to leave a confined parking space located close to a wall or other large structure. Before exiting, carefully inspect the surroundings and ensure that pedestrians, animals, bicycles, and obstacles are not present within the vehicle's path.
|
For safety reasons, Remote Smart Parking Assist in the Kia EV6 does not search for or recommend parking spaces that are smaller than the minimum dimensions required for safe automated parking. If the available space is too narrow, the system may not activate or may advise the driver to park manually.
|
Accumulated snow, ice, slush, or slippery winter road conditions may interfere with sensor visibility and vehicle traction. Under these circumstances, Remote Smart Parking Assist may become unavailable, pause operation, or automatically cancel the parking maneuver. Always monitor the Kia EV6 closely when parking in adverse weather conditions.
|
Remote Smart Parking Assist may not perform correctly in parking areas where parking lines are not parallel or where the parking layout is irregular. Even if the Kia EV6 identifies such a space as available, it is recommended not to rely on automated parking assistance and to park manually instead.
|
Remote Smart Parking Assist in the Kia EV6 may not operate normally on sloped, curved, or uneven parking surfaces, even when parking-space markings are clearly visible. If a parking space is located on an incline or curved roadway, avoid using the automated parking feature and perform the maneuver manually.
|
The Remote Operation feature may not function correctly when the Kia EV6 is parked within a diagonal parking space. Detection accuracy and maneuver calculations can be affected by the angle of the parking position, which may limit automated operation.
WARNING
The driver is fully responsible for parking and exiting the Kia EV6 safely. Always monitor the surroundings while using Remote Smart Parking Assist. Depending on environmental conditions, pedestrians, animals, vehicles, or obstacles may not be detected correctly. If a collision risk is present, immediately release the control button to stop the vehicle.
For personal safety, never stand in the path of the Kia EV6 while Remote Smart Parking Assist is operating.
Continuously observe all surrounding areas when using Remote Smart Parking Assist. Obstacles located near the sensors or within blind-spot areas may not be recognized by the system.
A collision may occur if a pedestrian, animal, cyclist, or object suddenly enters the vehicle's path while Remote Smart Parking Assist is active.
Do not operate Remote Smart Parking Assist while under the influence of alcohol, medication, or any substance that may impair judgment or reaction time.
Do not allow children or unauthorized individuals to use the Kia EV6 smart key or operate Remote Smart Parking Assist.
Repeated or prolonged operation of Remote Smart Parking Assist may temporarily affect system performance and responsiveness.
Remote Smart Parking Assist may not function correctly if the Kia EV6 requires wheel alignment service or if the vehicle leans noticeably to one side. Have the vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer whenever abnormal vehicle posture is observed.
Brake noises may be heard when Remote Smart Parking Assist automatically applies the brakes or when the driver presses the brake pedal during operation.
The system may apply emergency braking unexpectedly if a potential collision risk is detected.
Use Remote Smart Parking Assist only in parking spaces that provide sufficient room for the Kia EV6 to maneuver safely and complete the parking process without obstruction.
NOTE
If the third-stage warning of the Forward/Reverse Parking Distance Warning system sounds continuously while Remote Smart Parking Assist is operating, an obstacle has been detected very close to the Kia EV6. In this situation, the system temporarily pauses operation. Carefully verify that no pedestrians, animals, vehicles, or objects are present before continuing.
Depending on braking activity, the stop lamps of the Kia EV6 may illuminate automatically while the vehicle is moving under Remote Smart Parking Assist control.
If the Kia EV6 has been parked for an extended period in extremely cold weather and is then remotely started, Remote Parking operation may be delayed, restricted, or cancelled depending on battery condition, vehicle status, and environmental factors.
For the best results, keep all ultrasonic sensors and camera lenses clean and free from snow, dirt, mud, and water contamination before using Remote Smart Parking Assist.
