The Kia EV6 Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist system may operate abnormally, operate unexpectedly, or become temporarily limited under the following conditions:
The Kia EV6 detection sensors or nearby surrounding areas are contaminated, blocked, or physically damaged.
The temperature around the Kia EV6 front camera becomes extremely high or extremely low.
The front camera lens is obstructed by windshield tint film, coatings, damaged glass, stickers, insects, or other foreign objects attached to the windshield.
Moisture, frost, fogging, or ice is present on the windshield surface.
The windshield washer fluid is sprayed continuously or the windshield wipers remain operating for extended periods.
You are driving the Kia EV6 in heavy rain, snowstorms, or dense fog conditions.
Strong sunlight glare obstructs the field of view of the Kia EV6 front camera system.
Streetlights or headlights from oncoming traffic are reflected on wet road surfaces, puddles, or shiny pavement.
Objects placed on the instrument panel interfere with the front camera view.
Your Kia EV6 is being towed.
The surrounding environment is extremely bright or extremely dark, such as while driving through tunnels or underground roads.
The outside brightness changes suddenly, for example when entering or exiting a tunnel.
The surrounding light level is low and the Kia EV6 headlights are switched OFF or provide insufficient illumination.
Another vehicle, motorcyclist, pedestrian, or cyclist is only partially visible to the Kia EV6 sensors.
The vehicle or powered two-wheeler ahead is a bus, large truck, trailer, construction vehicle, or vehicle carrying unusually shaped cargo.
The vehicle ahead has missing, damaged, unusually positioned, or dim tail lights.
The surrounding brightness is low and the rear lights of the vehicle ahead are not illuminated properly.
The rear shape of the vehicle ahead appears unusual, such as when overturned, tilted, damaged, or viewed from the side.
The vehicle ahead has extremely low or extremely high ground clearance.
A vehicle, cyclist, motorcyclist, or pedestrian suddenly crosses in front of the Kia EV6.
The front bumper, front radar, or surrounding radar mounting area has been impacted, damaged, or shifted out of position.
The temperature near the Kia EV6 front radar becomes excessively high or low.
Driving through tunnels, steel bridges, or areas with strong metal reflections.
Driving in wide-open environments with very few surrounding structures or vehicles, such as deserts, meadows, or suburban open roads.
Driving near large metal structures such as railroads, construction zones, barriers, or industrial facilities.
Highly reflective materials are located near the Kia EV6 front radar, such as guardrails, nearby vehicles, or reflective barriers.
The cyclist ahead is riding a bicycle made of materials that poorly reflect radar signals.
The Kia EV6 detects the vehicle or powered two-wheeler ahead too late.
The vehicle or powered two-wheeler ahead becomes suddenly blocked by another obstacle.
The vehicle or motorcyclist ahead changes lanes abruptly or rapidly reduces speed.
The vehicle or powered two-wheeler ahead is heavily damaged or deformed.
The vehicle ahead is covered with snow, dirt, or road debris.
You are entering or leaving a lane while driving the Kia EV6.
The Kia EV6 is being driven aggressively or unstably.
You are driving through a traffic circle where road curvature limits front object detection.
You continue driving repeatedly in circular patterns or curved road sections.
The vehicle or powered two-wheeler ahead has an unusual appearance or profile.
The vehicle or powered two-wheeler ahead is driving uphill or downhill.
The pedestrian or cyclist is not fully visible, such as when crouching, leaning, bending over, or partially hidden.

The illustration above shows the approximate object shapes and movement patterns that the Kia EV6 front camera and radar systems are capable of recognizing as vehicles, powered two-wheelers, pedestrians, or cyclists.
Pedestrians or cyclists wear clothing or equipment that makes detection difficult.
Pedestrians, cyclists, or motorcyclists move very quickly in front of the Kia EV6.
The pedestrian or cyclist is short, crouching, seated, or positioned unusually.
Pedestrians or cyclists move against the normal traffic direction or have limited mobility.
A large crowd of pedestrians is located ahead of the Kia EV6.
The pedestrian’s clothing blends into the background environment, reducing visibility.
Pedestrians, cyclists, or objects are difficult to distinguish from surrounding scenery.
You are driving the Kia EV6 near pedestrians, cyclists, traffic signs, poles, or roadside structures at intersections.
The Kia EV6 may not properly detect pedestrians, cyclists, or motorcyclists under the following conditions:
Driving through steam, smoke, mist, or deep shadows.
Driving through tunnels or over steel bridges.
Driving through large open areas with few vehicles or structures, such as fields, deserts, or suburban areas.
Driving inside parking lots or parking garages.
Driving through tollgates, construction zones, rough roads, or heavily uneven terrain.
Driving near railroads, construction sites, or areas with large amounts of metal.
Driving on steep, winding, or sharply curved roads.
Driving near roadside trees, utility poles, or streetlights.
Driving along narrow roads surrounded by dense trees, bushes, or overgrowth.
Driving through strong electromagnetic interference zones with powerful radio waves or electrical noise.
Poor road surfaces or rough driving conditions create excessive Kia EV6 vehicle vibration.
The Kia EV6 ride height changes due to heavy cargo loads, incorrect tire pressure, suspension issues, or uneven loading conditions.
The Kia EV6 is equipped with snow chains, a temporary spare tire, or wheels and tires of different sizes.
Kia EV6 2022-2026 Owner's Manual: Power liftgate: (if equipped)
Power liftgate operating conditions The Kia EV6 power liftgate system operates when the vehicle is in P (Park) while running. When the vehicle is turned off, the power liftgate can still operate regardless of gear position. For safety reasons, the liftgate only opens when vehicle speed remains below 1.8 mph (3 km/h). Before using the Kia EV6 power liftgate, always confirm that the vehicle is securely shifted into P (Park).Kia EV6 2022-2026 Owner's Manual: Auto Defogging System (ADS)
The Kia EV6 Auto Defogging System (ADS) helps reduce windshield fogging by automatically detecting moisture levels on the inside surface of the windshield. The Kia EV6 Auto Defogging System operates whenever the heating or air conditioning system is active.
